not only were the engine character-

istics, performance, torque curve

and braking performance enhanced,

but the chassis was also adjusted

in line with the increased power.

The fine tuning of all measures has

been enhanced in extensive tests

in our workshops, on test stands

and in test drives in extreme weather

conditions. The result: even better

performance.

No matter what Tequipment products

you have retrofitted by your Porsche

Centre, your warranty remains fully

in force both for the product and

the vehicle. This also applies to

enhanced performance engines. It

goes without saying that every modi-

fication that is made comes with

full technical approval.

ised. It’s a Porsche. Where some

may see a contradiction, for us it

represents the core of the Porsche

brand. We call it ‘Ing.’.

This is the genetic code that is

specific Tequipment products that

are available to upgrade, individualise

and care for your Cayenne.

These products are developed,

tested and fine-tuned by the same

Porsche designers and Porsche

engineers that developed, tested

and fine-tuned the Cayenne. This all

happens at the Porsche Development

Centre in Weissach, Germany –

from the design to the release.

All products are subject to extensive

tests to examine the functional

performance and the long-term

durability on test stands, long-term

trials and test drives. Because they

must meet the high Porsche quality

guidelines and standards, just as the

high quality tools and materials do.

So that your Cayenne can stay

exactly what it is: 100 % Porsche.

Just a bit more individual.

For example, the increased power

of the Cayenne Turbo is the result

of numerous measures to optimise

the vehicle, on the intercooling

system, air routing, engine control,

brakes and chassis. The develop-

ment was sharply focused on the

performance of the vehicle as a

whole.

The Cayenne is fitted with Porsche

summer tyres as standard.

These quality summer tyres are the

essential prerequisite for high

tyre comfort, excellent grip, ideal

handling properties – and thus a

high level of safety and a unique

driving experience. These tyres

are perfect for the special Cayenne

requirements at warm tempera-

tures. Summer tyres begin to lose

grip as soon as temperatures fall

below +7 °C. Porsche therefore

recommends the use of winter tyres

with Porsche specifications – you

can recognise them by the N-label

on the side of the tyre – in all low

temperature conditions. These win-

ter tyres ensure traction, lateral

grip and optimum braking even at

low temperatures.

construction. So it’s hardly surprising

that we try to achieve just that little

bit more with the Cayenne, to make

driving just that little bit more exhil-

arating.

SportSportPower kit for Cayenne Turbo

An increase from 450 to 500 bhp

that can satisfy the highest demands

which is typically Porsche. With

regard to durability and performance

characteristics. In addition, the

increase in performance also incor-

porates a larger brake system to

match the increased power and an

adapted chassis.

In the Cayenne Turbo the increase in

performance is achieved by the con-

siderably increased and performance

enhanced charge-air coolers, flow

optimised air circulation and newly

applied engine management system.

The result: 500 bhp (368 kW),

whereby the maximum value in the

rev range is between 5,500 and

6,000 rpm. The torque has been

increased over a rev range between

2,250 and 4,750 rpm by 80 Nm to

a maximum of 700 Nm. Acceleration

from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 60 mph):

5.3 seconds. Top speed: 270 km/h

(168 mph).

It is not only the driving performance

that has been enhanced, but also

the braking performance that puts

the Cayenne Turbo in another league.

On the front axle there are 6-piston

aluminium monobloc brake callipers as

well as internally ventilated two-piece

brake discs with a diameter of

380 mm (standard: 350 mm) and a

thickness of 38 mm (standard:

34 mm). The specially developed

additional brake air supplies enhance

the brake ventilation at the front axle.

On the rear axle there are 4-piston

aluminium monobloc brake callipers

as well as internally ventilated brake

discs with a diameter of 358 mm

(standard: 330 mm) and a thickness

of 28 mm. Impressive dimensions to

be able to control the vehicle’s power

effortlessly.

Due to the enlarged brake system, 19-inchPorsche wheels must be fitted with the appropriate clearance.

PCM including navigation

system

Porsche Communication

Management (PCM) features a

built-in CD-ROM drive for audio and

navigation data (for vehicles up

to 05/04) or a separate DVD drive

for navigation data (for vehicles

after 06/04), 6.5-inch screen with

16:9 ratio for the sharpest resolu-

tion and the navigation unit. The

satellite-based GPS navigation sys-

tem with a separate antenna

calculates your position and works

out the route to your destination,

including possible diversions using

TMC (=Traffic Message Channel) in

countries that support this service.

Navigating the system menus is

equally straightforward with the aid

of a single, multi-function rotary

control. The integrated radio system

features an FM two-tuner frequency

with RDS diversity and has 20 VHF

as well as 20 MW presets.

Navigation update (not illustrated)

Update the PCM navigation system

with the data status of the Model

Year 2005. The update consists of

a system and map update and

makes navigation generally more

accurate. The map material covers

new countries and is much more

detailed. It will also be possible to

use a whole range of new func-

tions: destination entry using the

postcode, TMC (=Traffic Message

Channel) for more regions, use of

an optional electronic logbook and

much more.

Electronic logbook (not illustrated)

The electronic logbook supports the

user in keeping a logbook, where

all relevant data can be recorded

and the user input is reduced to a

minimum. It is operated via the

PCM menu. The electronic logbook

includes PC software for subsequent

evaluation of data. The data is out-

put via the PCM infrared interface.

opener)

Freely programmable garage door

opener integrated into the roof

console for up to three garages,

gates, lighting systems or alarm

systems. It is compatible with nearly

all garage door and gate systems.

Porsche Rear Seat

Entertainment

The basic system consists of a dis-

play and player console, wireless IR

headphones and a remote control.

It is not sensitive to movement,

plays all standard formats (CD,

DVD, MP3, etc.) and two separate,

individually selected AV sources

such as a games console or a digi-

tal camera can be connected. The

system meets the high Porsche

safety standard, blends in with the

vehicle interior and is ergonomically

designed.

The display console is attached to

the backrest of the front seat. The

headrest can still be adjusted as

before. The 7-inch TFT display can

be adjusted for optimum viewing.

The games console attached firmly

to the middle of the back seat can

be quickly and easily removed if

required. If required, you can always

add another display console or

set of headphones to your basic

system.

Vehicles up to 06/03 require towbar system preparation.

Telephone module for PCM

The triband telephone module that

can be installed in addition to

PCM has a large transmission range

in wave bands 900, 1,800 and

1,900 MHz. The PCM 12-button

keypad makes it easy to dial

telephone numbers.

Upgraded navigation module

The upgraded navigation module

works in conjunction with the GPS

navigation system and covers

destinations and navigation in areas

that are not digitalised. It has a

compass and provides important

information on height, latitude and

longitude. The backtrace function

also allows you to call up and

retrace a previous route.

Porsche child seats

Porsche child seats guarantee se-

curity and comfort for the youngest

Porsche passengers.The outer

rear seats and front passenger seat

in the Cayenne are fitted with the

ISOFIX anchor system as standard.

This system is specifically designed

to attach the child seat directly to

the seat.

Seat size reduction option

This option is designed to reduce

the size of the Porsche Baby Seat

ISOFIX, G O+ and provides support

for the head of a newborn child.

Telescopic rods on the child seat

slide out and slot into anchor points

between the backrest and seat

and hold the child seat securely

against the backrest. Porsche

ISOFIX child seats can alternatively

be fitted using the standard three-

point safety belts.

Towbar system

The Cayenne offers a maximum

braked trailer load of 3.5 tonnes by

using one of two optional towbar

systems. Both have a maximum

payload of 140 kg and are supplied

equipped with a 13-pin plug socket.

Neither trailer system restricts the

wading capability of the vehicle.
