A gunman has opened fire on a TV news crewconducting a live broadcast from Virginiashopping center on Wednesday. Police arereporting three victims, though theirconditions are currently unknown. Theshooter is still on the loose. Video from the scene appears to show a crew fromlocal TV outlet WDBJ7 being attacked in the middleof a live report at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta,Virginia. A reporter was interviewing a woman at theshopping center when the gunman walkedinto view, firing what sounded to be at leastsix shots. The station has confirmed the incident involvedone of its crews. Police are looking for the shooter and hopeto soon release a description of theindividual to the public. Nearby Bedford County schools are currentlyon lockdown as police search for the shooter,ABC 13 reported. The Virginia Department ofTransportation has reported a highprioritysituation, announcing the closure of Route 122 inthe area.

It was about the worst situation imaginable.Totally calm twilight scene, reporter isinterviewing another woman on live television.They're isolated on some kind of walkway(nowhere to run). They're in mid conversation, alleyes are on the woman being interviewed and thegunman comes up behind the back of thecameraman, shoots him a few times, he goesdown. Young woman screams and starts to run,woman being interviewed doesn't seem to move.It's not clear if that's because she was being shotor she was just in total shock, either would work.Camera drops and points backwards just enoughto see it's a white man wearing all black shootingthe cameraman. Last couple frames has the lowerlegs of the shooter on frame and the reporter girlsscreams are changing pitch and sound strained asshe's taking hits. The news station then cuts backto a studio reporter who has clearly turned whiteand is unable to process what just happened.

Literally the only option left for humans like that isto try to tackle the man with the gun. You'll takebullets trying to do this, obviously, and very likelydie doing it. But at that point, you simply don'thave time to arm yourself and stop the madmanany other way.
