St. Bridget of Ireland

Words of Wisdom Throughout the centuries, sacred writers have vied with one another in describing the marvel of the Real Presence. It has been called the greatest work of God, the mirror of divine perfections; the reflection of the wisdom, the immensity, and the eternity of God; a type of all the operations of God, the teacher of the unity

of God. It has been described as the continuation and the parallel of the Incarnation and the sum of its wonders, as the mirror of the life of Christ, as the triumph of the Church and even as its very life, as the explanation of the phenomena of the Church, as the compendium of all miracles, as the example of every virtue, as the fountain of all grace, as the magnet of souls. Yet, strive as they may, no writers, no poets, no saints can say anything more outstanding than this truth – the Blessed Sacrament is God!

Cardinal Francis Ripley English priest, author, apologist

Saint of the WeekSt. John Francis Regis:

John Francis was born January 31, 1597, the son of a wealthy merchant father and a mother descended from

nobility. As a boy he was sensitive, devout, and eager to please his

parents and teachers. Educated by Jesuits from the age of 14, he entered the Society of Jesus in December of 1616. As he followed the traditional

Jesuit path of teaching and extensive studies, John also became known as a skilled catechist. He was eager to

enter the priesthood and offered his first Mass on Trinity Sunday in 1631. John spent much of the rest of that year caring for victims of a plague

outbreak in the city of Toulouse. In 1632, John received his assignment as a missionary to the French Protestants – known as Huguenots – as well as the country’s lapsed Catholics and others in need of evangelization. The rest of

his life would be devoted to this mission, with remarkable success. John’s missionary work spanned

both a large geographical distance and a broad social spectrum. In over 50 districts of France, he preached the Gospel to children, the poor,

prisoners, and others forgotten or neglected by society. His best-known work involved helping women escape

prostitution. His missionary work involved difficult winter journeys;

often preaching outdoors all day, then hearing confessions throughout the night. Though suffering from a lung

ailment in December 1640, he insisted on preaching a parish mission and

hearing confessions. A penitent found him unconscious in the confessional,

though he revived long enough to receive the last rites before dying,

saying “Into thy hands I commend my spirit.” His Feast Day is June 16.

Spirtual Thought“I know God will not give me anything

I can’t handle. I just wish that He didn’t trust me so much.”

- Mother Teresa

June 14, 2020 Divine Mercy Said: “Once, the image was being exhibited over the altar during the Corpus Christi procession [June 20, 1935]. When the priest exposed the Blessed Sacrament and the choir began to sing, the rays from the image pierced the Sacred Host and spread out all over the world. Then I heard these words: These rays of mercy will pass through you, just as they have passed through this Host, and they will go out through all the world. At these words, profound joy invaded my soul.”
