When we gather together as a faith community to give glory to God, we expect

that our experience will be similar to what it was the week before, or the week before that. Most likely

this is how the faithful of Nazareth felt when they went to synagogue. Then

one day, Jesus, son of Mary, a carpenter whom some may have known

when he was just a boy, stood up to preach. Unlike

the crowd in today’s Gospel, may we be open to the Word of God entering

in unexpected ways.

tory collection in a recognizable way by using

envelopes or checks as a means of verification of

attendance. If you are not receiving offertory

envelopes, please call the Rectory Office at 912-

Be assured you and your loved ones will be re-

membered during these Days of Prayer. We en-

courage you to return the enclosed insert with

your intentions as they will be placed at the

Shrine of Mary in our Monastery and remem-

bered during the Services.

Second Collection Next Weekend Next week, our parish will take up a collection

for the Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa.

While the Church in Africa is growing, many still

lack access to basic resources and pastoral care.

Many suffer due to high

rates of poverty and un-

employment, illiteracy,

and poor education. The

Solidarity Fund for the

Church in Africa sup-

ports pastoral projects

that foster lasting peace

and reconciliation in a continent often marked by

division and tension.
