Dr. Lily Khidr Publisher Elsevier Dr. Lily Khidr is an academic research scientist and a publisher for Elsevier in New York. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Biological Sciences at Columbia University. Previously she was an editor for Nature Genetics and Science Translational Medicine. She received a BS in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley; an MS in physiological sciences from University of California, Los Angeles, and a MS/PhD in biological chemistry from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. She is a fellow of United Nations. Prof. Dr. Johannes Lercher Editor-In-Chief Journal Of Catalysis Technische Universität München, Garching, Germany Prof. Lercher’s research is focused on heterogeneous catalysis. He aims to gain an elemental understanding of the chemical reactions on surfaces and in the pores of nanostructured catalysts and use this knowledge to develop new catalysts and reaction channels. Processes like the sustainable generation of clean energy sources through selective conversion of biogenous or fossil raw materials are examined. This is done by combining the physical-chemical characterization of catalysts and determining the kinetics through catalyzed reactions. Based on the findings from this research work the institute develops new catalysts and reaction paths that combine a number of different functions and so allow several reaction steps to be run in one process. Prof. Lercher studied chemistry at TU Vienna. He completed his doctorate there in1980 and his lecturer qualification in 1985. In1982, he was a visiting professor at Yale University. In 1990, he became Head of the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Heterogeneous Catalysis. In 1993 he was appointed professor of catalytic materials and processes at the University of Twente in the Netherlands and in 1998 professor of technical chemistry at TUM. He is an external member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, a member of the Academy of Europe and has been awarded honorary professorships at the China University of Petroleum and the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
