Convergence of radio protocols with TaHoma®, Somfy io-homecontrol®

The radio protocol of brandsspecialized in homesMore than 10 years ago, Somfy and Velux, two leader enterprises and market references have united their know-how and capacities to develop a unique radio technology that answers the specific needs of home. They were then joined by other brands of house specialists also integrating theio-homecontrol technology in their products, and thus having them “ready for home automation”.

These brands recommend compatible products in all of Europe, and make you take advantage of a presence and a major commercial support.

Thanks to TaHoma box, your clients can order today equipment using io-homecontrol technologies, Radio Technology Somfy,or even Enocean and Zwave from their home. TaHoma is a multi-protocol hub serving as a bridge between these technologies and many more to come in the future.

Somfy radio protocol

With more than 10 million systems installed across the world, Somfy radio protocol is the absolute reference for radio command. It allows controlling all your home access openings (shutters, blinds, gate, garage door…) and transmitting orders from your remote control towards motors and automation.With RTS, Somfy acquired a unique know-how in radio technology issues. By simplifying the integration and installation of motors, by facilitating control programming and by guaranteeing an inter-operational function among different home equipment, Somfy has greatly contributed to develop the market.

Adopted by more than 300 manufacturers

Enocean is a wireless radio protocol, standardized (IEC 14543-310), inter-operational and open, with a very low energy consumption and allowing autonomous power without batteries. It is bi-directional and secure (by encryption and/or rolling code). This protocol uses the 868 MHz frequency. Telegrams are very short (0.6 ms), emitted three times randomly in 30 ms.

Today, the Enocean protocol is carried out by more than 300 manufacturers with more than 1000 inter-operational products.

One of the most prevalent homeautomation radio protocols

Zwave is a wireless radio protocol, open and very prevalent in the home automation sphere. It is bi-directional and provides the necessary feedback on TaHoma. It uses the 868.42 MHz radio frequency. Zwave protocol integrates the “mesh” technology, making of each equipment a radio signal repeater to cover bigger surfaces.
