This year, Dy-Mark celebrates its 45th year in business with the launch of this catalogue and some innova-

tive new products. Over the last four decades Dy-Mark has continued to build on its reputation, both in

Australia and internationally, as a manufacturer of quality products. Our paints feature high solids formula-

tions, ensuring that customers get value for money each time they buy a Dy-Mark product.

Dy-Mark’s core product range of marking paints and inks, has grown over the years to include packaging

products and a labeling division and through these changes and improvements, Dy-Mark is proud to have

remained 100% Australian owned and operated.

As one of the first aerosol paint manufacturers to remove lead compounds from its paint formulations,

Dy-Mark has since developed a reputation in the marketplace for our commitment to product innovation.

More recently, we launched a water-based marking paint, demonstrating our undertaking to manufacture

products that promote healthier workplaces and have a minimal impact on the environment. Our R&D

department is in the process of making improvements to aerosol paint formulations, with Spray & Mark,

Spray Ink, Spray Writer and Line Marking Paint now Toluene free. The improved formulas are safer, contain

no substances that deplete the ozone layer, and also discourage the misuse of aerosols.

In this latest edition of our catalogue, you will find old favourites such as Spray & Mark and Line Marking

Paint, which continue to be regarded as some of Australia’s best marking products. You will also find new

products, such as Water-Based Spray & Mark, a high solids Enamel range, an Etch Primer and PlasGuard,

an anti-static plastic cleaner.

We are especially excited about the launch of our new line marking machine – the Line Master. When it

came to designing the new machine, we took into account the feedback we had received from our custom-

ers, some of whom mark lines on a daily basis. This feedback allowed us to develop a machine that incor-

porates a number of new features, such as a built-in side line attachment and a removable handle that has

been specifically designed for spot marking.

The Flawchek system is a method of non-destructive testing which will detect flaws on metal surfaces.

Step 1 - Preclean (Grey)Part/area to be inspected must dry and free from any surface contamination (such as grease, oils, rust and paint). Surface contaminants can cover a flaw, inhibiting the entrance of the dye. Step 2 – Penetrant (Red)Spray penetrant dye over the area that is to be inspected.Allow penetrant to dwell for 10 minutes. Dwell time should be extended in extremely cold conditions. Area to be inspected should be kept wet with penetrant during the dwell time.Allow excess penetrant to drain. Step 3 – Remover (Blue)Spray Flawchek Remover over the area covered by the penetrant and leave for a maximum of 2 minutes.Rinse remover and emulsified Penetrant from the surface with water and allow parts to dry.Do not over rinse as this may remove Penetrant from the flaws. Step 4 – Developer (White)Spray a light coat of the Developer over the area to be inspected, avoiding a heavy film. Leave Developer to dry and inspect parts for flaws after 2 – 3 minutes. If very fine flaws are suspected, the parts should be re-inspected after 20 minutes.

Note: These recommendations are based on tests conducted in normal conditions. Actual conditions of use are beyond Dy-Mark’s control and recommendations are made without warranty.
