Dear Falcon Families, As the principal, I am honored to serve at a school with such a rich tradition of excellence. I am especially proud of our community this school year - our parent support, our teachers’ constant adjustments to best serve our students, and for the perseverance that our students are displaying. As administrators, we know that we work for an incredible school community and we will continue to help provide and support academics and the social-emotional needs of the school. Thank you for your partnership! CFHS has always been known for its outstanding programs and high standards in academics, fine arts, sports, and co- curricular activities. We offer over 150 course selections including college preparatory, honors, Advanced Placement, and Career and Technical Education courses. As important and impressive as the top-notch programs we offer, our culture, school spirit, and sense of belonging are equally as important. Even in hybrid learning, we strive to create belonging spaces for all students and hope that every student is feeling some sense of connection in classes, clubs, sports, and co-curricular activities. It is a challenge, yet we continue to share suggestions through our counselors, teachers, administration, sponsors, and coaches to help support, connect, and engage students. Thank you for choosing Catalina Foothills for your son or daughter. We value our parents as partners in education and hope to work together to provide your son or daughter the best high school experience possible, no matter the challenges. CFHS will continue to support student learning (In-Person and Remotely). We are asking that our returning 9 th -11 th grade parents complete the on-line registration for the 2021-2022 school year. This is a needed step each year. This year all documents are to be filled out electronically. We appreciate you registering students as soon as possible. Once we receive your registration, this allows the school to begin building course selections and hire the staff needed. Our students will soon be asked to select their CFHS classes for next year and your help in registration will assist us with providing a smooth and timely process. Dear Falcon Families,

As the principal, I am honored to serve at a school with such a rich tradition of excellence. I am especially proud of our

community this school year - our parent support, our teachers’ constant adjustments to best serve our students, and for the

perseverance that our students are displaying. As administrators, we know that we work for an incredible school community

and we will continue to help provide and support academics and the social-emotional needs of the school. Thank you for your

partnership!

CFHS has always been known for its outstanding programs and high standards in academics, fine arts, sports, and co-

curricular activities. We offer over 150 course selections including college preparatory, honors, Advanced Placement, and

Career and Technical Education courses. As important and impressive as the top-notch programs we offer, our culture, school

spirit, and sense of belonging are equally as important. Even in hybrid learning, we strive to create belonging spaces for all

students and hope that every student is feeling some sense of connection in classes, clubs, sports, and co-curricular activities. It

is a challenge, yet we continue to share suggestions through our counselors, teachers, administration, sponsors, and coaches to

help support, connect, and engage students.

Thank you for choosing Catalina Foothills for your son or daughter. We value our parents as partners in education and hope to

work together to provide your son or daughter the best high school experience possible, no matter the challenges. CFHS will

continue to support student learning (In-Person and Remotely).

We are asking that our returning 9th-11th grade parents complete the on-line registration for the 2021-2022 school year. This is

a needed step each year. This year all documents are to be filled out electronically. We appreciate you registering students as

soon as possible. Once we receive your registration, this allows the school to begin building course selections and hire the staff

needed. Our students will soon be asked to select their CFHS classes for next year and your help in registration will assist us

with providing a smooth and timely process.

Students and parents can refer to the ECAP section in the Counseling Google Classroom at any time for links to revisit the lesson. Junior ECAP will occur on February 12 and will also be posted in the Google Classroom.

CFHS Registration and Course Selection

Families must complete district registration every year. If you live in CFSD, please log into your Parent VUE account and choose “Online Registration” in the upper right-hand corner. Credit Recovery

Students who failed a core class and need to do credit recovery should contact their counselor as soon as possible about adding Course Emporium to their spring schedule or formulating an alternate plan to retake the required course. Course Emporium is a supervised computer lab where students log on to the CFHS-approved Edgenuity platform to repeat the course content. Upon completion of the coursework, the repeated course will go on the transcript with the earned replacement grade and the previously earned F will turn to an RF (repeated/replaced) and come out of the GPA calculation. Course Emporium is entered as a period in the student's schedule (in lieu of a free period, Study Hall, or elective) and is free during the school year. Course Emporium is also offered as a summer credit recovery option for a fee.

2021 AP EXAM REGISTRATION (This information was also sent via email on 9/21 and 10/27)

2021 AP exams will take place during the first two weeks of May. Click here for a detailed exam schedule.

AP exam registration is a multi-step process:

1. Students create a MyAP account through College Board (myap.collegeboard.org). Already have a College Board account?: Use the same credentials. DO NOT create two accounts. Use a personal email address when creating a College Board account. DO NOT USE YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESS.

2. Once logged into MyAP, enter the join code provided by each AP teacher. Students will have a join code for each AP class in which they are enrolled.

3. You will see that your exam registration is already "yes".

If you do not want to test, please email Ms. Petrillo to change your registration to "no." If there is any chance that you will test, do not request an exam cancellation. College Board has decided that for the 2020-21 school year only, all canceled exam fees will be waived. This means there is no penalty for a student to order a test and then cancel later - even up to test day. The only time a student would be charged the $40 late fee is if they opt to register for an exam after the below deadlines. With this in mind, all students - upon joining each AP classroom - have an "Order Exam?" status of "Yes."

• Decision deadline for fall/yearlong classes = was November 1 (students may still add for a $40 late fee)

• Decision deadline for spring-only classes (S2 Gov/Macro) = March 1 **No AP exam registrations will be added after March 1.

4. Pay the $95 fee (per test) via InTouch or by contacting the Bursar's Office (209-8310). There is a premium fee for AP Capstone exams. The payment deadline for ALL exams is March 1, 2021. Please note that there is a decision deadline and a payment deadline. Families may pay for exams at any point between now and March 1. Any exams not paid for by March 1 are subject to cancellation. Students who qualify for Free/Reduced lunch should still please go through InTouch to “finalize” the registration process, but know that the total exam fee will appear as $0.00.

Refer to the AP information section on the Counseling Department's website for additional details. Contact Ms. Petrillo at [email protected] with any questions or concerns about AP exam registration or payment.
