The comic Cataclysmal Excess! Is a Singapore Post-Apocalypse comic adventure. It centres on the lives of a soldier, Howard, and a girl, Iris. They live in Singapore, which has become a barren and desolate piece of land after the country’s vital energy source went missing. The comic is essentially existentialist. We follow Howard and Iris almost mindlessly as they discover more about each other even as they run away from destruction. We also follow them as they go clubbing in Zouk.Cataclysmal Excess! is a reflection of a life where nothing is planned because nothing can be planned. You won’t know what will happen next. It might be just a first world artist romanticising an apocalyptic dreamscape. Or it could be a cool pseudo zeitgeist of the new generation in the future.
