Independent Material Handling SystemThe material handling system providesprecise mix delivery through the mostproven system in the industry. Theindependent operation of the augersand conveyors reduces componentwear and minimizes the potential formix segregation.

Reversible augers and conveyors assistthe crew by reducing handwork andclean-up. The reversible auger featurepulls asphalt back into the main screedarea when retracting the extenderswhile the reversible conveyor featurepulls asphalt back into the tunnels,resulting in limited spillage.

High Ambient Temperature Cooling SystemThe standard, high-capacity cooling system provides efficientoperation in high ambient temperatures. The system designprovides quiet operation that benefits the operator and thesurrounding environment.

Efficient Airflow DesignThe airflow design draws ambient air across the enginecompartment and through the coolers. This design allows theexhaust air to exit toward the hopper in order to provide acooler engine compartment and cooler operatingenvironment.

Variable Speed FanThe variable speed fan is electronically controlled andhydraulically driven to provide on-demand cooling. Thison-demand operation reduces engine power demand, lowerssound levels, and increases fuel efficiency.

The power ratings apply at a rated speed of 2200 RPM whentested under the reference conditions for the specific standard.

The net power advertised is the power available at theflywheel when the engine is equipped with alternator, aircleaner, muffler and fan at minimum speed.

The net power at the flywheel when the fan is at maximumspeed is 113.6 kW (152.3 hp) per the SAE J1349 referenceconditions.

Derating is not required up to an altitude of 3000 m (9,842 ft).

Dual Operating StationsThe dual operating stations incorporate fully-equippedconsoles, ground speed indicators, adjustable suspensionseats with cup holders, armrests, and 76 mm (3") retractableseat belts.

Operator VisibilityEach of the dual operating stations can be positioned in oneof five different locations to provide optimum visibility. Thestations can extend beyond the machine frame for improvedvisibility when paving applications require precise control.

Tilting ConsolesThe tilting consoles increase operator comfort by offeringmultiple positions. A 12-volt power supply located on theright console allows for the use of accessories.

Advisor Display

Advisor Monitoring System Simplifies OperationThe left operating console includes the Advisor Display that provides many unique featuresto assist the operator.

Advisor Monitoring System (AMS)The Advisor display provides access to a start-up checklist,operator preferences, engine and machine operatingparameters, “Paving Calculator”, and “Paving by theNumbers.”

The AMS display also allows the operator to:

• Calibrate the machine components

• Set the automatic engine speed control

• Monitor engine rpm and operating temperatures

• Determine the required paving speed and tonnagerequirements for a particular job

• Determine performance parameters such as distancetraveled, operating hours, paving distance, paving hours,and engine fuel consumption

Wheel Undercarriage SystemThe wheel undercarriage system provides excellent mobility and maneuverability alongwith a smooth ride for optimum performance.

Excellent MobilityThe sharp turning radius and high propel speeds allow thepaver to move quickly around the job site.

Three Propel ModesPave, travel and maneuver modes provide good control andversatility. The new maneuver mode provides a 1.4 m (4' 8")turning radius for excellent maneuverability in tight quarters.

Speed ControlA speed control dial located on the operating console allowsthe operator to set a maximum propel speed. When the propellever is moved to the full forward position, the paver returnsto the preset speed.

Steering AssistA position sensor located in the left steering cylinderprovides good maneuverability by adjusting the drive speedof the propel motors according to the steering angle of thefront wheels. This feature allows the machine to turn whilemaintaining a consistent travel speed, leading to better matquality and less wear on the drive system.

Large Drive TiresThe 16.00 x 25 sand-rib drive or radial tires provide goodtractive effort and a smooth ride.

Large Steering TiresThe 13" x 22", solid rubber steering tires provide maximumground contact, leading to good turning capability.

Front SuspensionFour, front solid rubber steering wheels are mounted on pairsof oscillating bogies, providing a smooth ride.

Long Wheel BaseThe long wheel base provides good tractive effort andstability on soft base materials.

Front Wheel Assist (Optional)The front wheel assist feature provides power to the frontbogie wheels for additional tractive effort.

All-Wheel Assist (Optional)The all-wheel assist feature provides power to the front andrear bogie wheels, maximizing tractive effort.

Independent Material Handling System Promotes Hands-Free OperationThe gateless material handling system promotes hands-free operation by providing featuressuch as ratio control dials, and independent control of each auger and each conveyor.

Precise Mix DeliveryThe material delivery system provides precise mix deliverywith minimal operator monitoring. The left and rightconveyors in addition to the left and right augers arecontrolled independently. The ability to control these fourcomponents separately eliminates the need for feeder gates.

Ratio ControlThe ratio of conveyor speed to the maximum auger speed isautomatically maintained through the controller whenchanging paving speed. This ratio control feature is helpfulwhen paving wider or thicker on one side of the screed.

Outboard-Mounted Conveyor DrivesThe conveyors have outboard-mounted motors, reducers anddrive chains that maximize the tunnel area and reducesegregation.

Gateless SystemThe gateless conveyors run full of mix regardless of the augerspeed. When changes in conveyor speed are required, deliveryof mix to the augers is immediate. By not always having torun the conveyors at full speed, component wear issignificantly reduced.

Running at slower speeds can also help reduce theopportunity for segregation, especially when working withlarger stone mixes that have a tendency to segregate.

Independent Auger DriveThe auger drive assembly is independent of the tractor, whichallows the distance between the two conveyors to besignificantly reduced. Keeping the conveyors close togetherallows the material to flow together more easily as itdischarges into the auger cavity. The tunnel and auger designeliminates voids under the chain case in order to minimizesegregation.

Adjustable Auger RangeThe auger assembly is hydraulically adjustable with a rangeup to 215 mm (8.5"). The ability to adjust the auger assemblysimplifies loading and unloading from a transport vehicle.Also, when working with larger stone mixes, the augers canbe adjusted to allow the mix to flow unrestricted under theauger assembly.

Power Folding Front Apron (Optional)The front hopper apron folds rearward providing goodmaterial flow. It reduces clean out effort and time, a featurethe crew will really appreciate. A switch located on eachoperating console provides power to the hydraulic foldingapron.

*Note: The front hopper apron is standard without the powercontrol and folding wings. Manual operation is required.

Generator System Provides Quiet PowerThe high capacity generator provides power for the electric screed heat, auxiliary lightsand job site tools.

Industrial, Single-Phase A.C. GeneratorThe tractor-mounted generator provides 25 kW of power at60 Hz for the electric screed heat and the auxiliary powerpanel. Circuit breaker protection, internal electronic voltageregulation and a dual bearing design provide reliability.

Choices Available (Belt or Hydraulic Driven): The belt-driven generator provides full power with a variablefrequency when the engine speed increases above 1275 rpm.

The hydraulic-driven generator provides full power with afixed frequency of 60 Hz when the engine speed increasesabove 1275 rpm.

Optional Auxiliary Power PanelThe power panel provides 8 kW of power for auxiliarylighting and job site work tools. The panel includes four 120 V and two 240 V receptacles.
