STATEMENTS OF ACCOUNT
SCHOOL CONTRIBUTIONS: Statements of Account have been posted out to parents and carers this week. Below is information from the School Handbook regarding contributions. EFTPOS facilities are now available. Parents are reminded that receipting closes at 1.30pm each day.
GENERAL SCHOOL CONTRIBUTION A contribution is charged to purchase such things as sporting equipment, teaching materials, library books and printed sheets. Invoices are sent out regularly to encourage parents to meet this commitment. School contributions are not compulsory and payment is a matter for decision by parents. Parents/carers are welcome to make part payments. We would ask all parents to make these payments as they are an important source of income for the school.
SUBJECT CONTRIBUTION Subject contributions are used to pay for materials used by students in practical subjects and specific subjects that students have chosen to study. These subjects are known as electives. Practical subject contributions are to be paid early in Term 1 so that students are able to participate in quality practical learning experiences. Invoices are sent out regularly to remind parents of this requirement.
If subject contributions are not paid, students’ practical projects will not be released from the school for students to take home.
Parents who cannot pay for subject contributions because of hardship may be assisted from the Student Assistance Scheme. Parents should make themselves aware of the contributions involved when students make their choices of elective subjects.
SCHOOL READ-A-THON
We’re holding the School Read-A-Thon as a major fundraising event this year! The event will be held between
22nd August – 2nd September! This is a sponsorship based fundraiser, and we’re looking to raise $5000, so all
help is appreciated!
The School Read-A-Thon promotes literacy to our students in a fun and engaging way! It’s all about participation
and we’re organsing a great day for our school community. Family support is key to our fundraising success and
we encourage all students to get involved.
Keep your eyes peeled for the parent/carer letter which will be sent home with your child. Students who raise
just $10 or more will receive a reward for effort. In the Sponsorship Form students will also find many other
benefits like the chance to win a Samsung Tablet every week!
The School Read-A-Thon is a great alternative to junk food fundraising. The event sends the right message to
students about having fun while getting involved and being active.
We’re really hoping you will get behind us on this fundraiser to ensure we hit our fundraising goal, which will
allow the school to purchase a 3D PRINTER for the Library and AIRCONDITIONING for the school gym.
Thanks so much for all of your support, let’s have some fun reading!
