the AskThe client was spending considerable time and effort on internal support for its SAP environment. The company decided to evaluate third party vendors that could provide them with comprehensive SAP support services, along with the maintenance for their World Wide Information Systems (WWIS) group.
After much evaluation, the client chose Quadrant4 to provide development and maintenance services as part of this initiative. Quadrant 4, with its extensive experience in global sourcing projects, understood the challenges involved at the outset of a new engagement with a first time outsourcing organization.

Quadrant 4 initially positioned a SAP expert and a team of experienced SAP consultants at the customer site for a one-month period as a comprehensive knowledge transfer was carried out. Quadrant 4 developed quality systems and procedure documentation that was later fine-tuned to comply with the customer’s QRB/Gate methodology.
The team was further ramped up to an additional ten resources to support the SAP upgrade initiative (from 3.11 to 4.6c/4.7). Monthly review meetings were held and vital parameters monitored for defect management and performance metrics across the various stages of SDLC.
Quadrant 4 successfully supported the global maintenance and support activities with a significant team of experts. The support activities included new projects deployment, production support, enhancements/maintenance, and regression testing in SAP.

Results
As a result of Quadrant 4’s services, the client was able to significantly cut
down the costs of their global maintenance of SAP environment.
Quadrant 4 continues to support the client’s SAP landscape.
Quadrant 4’s services alleviated the client’s resources in what turned to
be an ongoing engagement with an annual effort of about 100,000 hours
supporting worldwide users and external customers.
The SAP landscape encompassed 11,000 named users globally with a
database size of over 2 TBBUILD
