With HRS Marketplace, the BO Hotel Hamburg can more easily take part in global hotel tenders.

Profile• Edge-of-city location: in an industrial area where companies based there can be reached on foot

• Extra service: free Wi-Fi, 1 bottle mineral water per room, late checkout

• Rating: 91% of HRS guests would recommend the BO Hotel Hamburg to others

• A particular highlight: the reception area and lobby were completely redesigned in 2018

Experiences Before participating in the HRS Marketplace, Ulrich Dreyer was in a comfortable situation because theBO Hotel Hamburg’s location in an industrial area meant that it was often frequented by businesstravellers visiting the companies in the immediate vicinity. But Dreyer was always convinced:“There’s scope to do better!”

When his longstanding HRS contact partner first told him about the new programme for thebusiness customer market, he naturally pricked up his ears – and tried it out. The very firstsubmission of an offer went well for Ulrich Dreyer: “In principle, it’s all very simple. I get all therelevant information about a company’s tender from HRS and can submit a suitable rate on thisbasis”, explains Dreyer.

What particularly appeals to Ulrich Dreyer is that he gains access to the real global players inbusiness circles in this “competition”, which can occasionally go into a second round. So far, it hasalways taken significantly more time and effort to contact this customer segment, and theseendeavours – if he even succeeded in getting a hearing – were not always rewarded.

If his hotel is accepted in a tender, there are additional success-based fees, which Ulrich Dreyerdoesn’t mind at all, as there is also absolute transparency: “The fixed rates established mean thatall costs can be fully calculated from the outset. Then as soon as we are accepted by a company asan approved partner in its hotel programme, there are commission-free bookings, which of course isgreat for us”, says Dreyer.

He also appreciates the individual freedoms that the programme offers all participating partners:“While HRS Marketplace initially acts as a broker, it subsequently plays no further role and has noinfluence, i.e. actual contact is then directly between the offering hotel and the customers”, explainsDreyer.

SummaryFor the BO Hotel Hamburg, HRS Marketplace offers optimal access to the global market. Thanks to its reports with market-relevant information such as price benchmarks in the market, customer requirements and market shares, which are exclusively available to HRS Marketplacemembers, Ulrich Dreyer and his team are better placed to compete even more effectively in the longterm in the fiercely competitive domestic and international hotel market.
