As economic conditions become tighter, it is more

important than ever for businesses to take advantage

of every opportunity available to lower operating costs

and differentiate their products or services from the

    competition.

The prices of traditional fuels used for heating hot

water are on the rise. Oil, natural gas, propane

and electricity all cost more now than ever before.

And the operating costs of any business that uses

them increases as well, affecting the profitability and

    competitiveness of the business.

While not every car wash uses hot water for cleaning

cars, there are other needs for hot water and heat

at a carwash. These additional uses include radiant

heating (of car bays and any customer areas or

convenient stores that are on the property) and

snow/ice melting, which can be extremely important

in preventing accidents and injuries to customers or

    employees.

Using a SunMaxx solar thermal system for any

combination of these applications will eliminate 50% ormore from your hot water and heating expenses. The

obvious result is that your business will experience an

increase in profitability. You can also use these tax-

free savings on marketing, advertising, expansion and

offering new or improved services to your customers.

The federal government, as well as most state and

local governments have initiated incentives on solar

thermal system installations to encourage business

owners to further explore the use of solar thermal

technology as an alternative to traditional hot water

heating options. Such incentives include income tax

credits, sales tax exemptions, property tax exemptions

and cash rebates. These additional savings can cut

the initial cost of your SunMaxx solar thermal system

by over 50%, leading to a shorter payback period and

a higher overall return on investment.

    Solar Thermal Incentives

To help businesses afford the initial cost of a solar thermal hot water or space heating system, federal, state and loca

governments have begun offering a number of incentives.

The key incentive is a 30% uncapped federal tax credit. Most state and local governments offer a combination of state taxcredits, cash rebates, sales tax exemptions and property tax increase exemptions. Combined together, these incentives can

cover upwards of 50% of the total cost of a SunMaxx solar thermal system.
