Issue : A form 2 student went coma after being hit, punched and kicked by his friends. He was being bullied and showed a few ill symtoms before went into coma state. Cause of this problem : 1. the perpetretors lacked of attention and love at home, they wanted to get some attention. 2. the perpetrators imitated those harsh behaviour probably from their parents, siblings, relatives or even from the mass media (tv, internet, comic,) - related with Bandura theory 3. They wanted to show authorithy and try to gain some power by bullying the weak victim who is helplessly cannot defend himself. Classical Conditioning : In relation with Bandura Imitative Learning Theory - Of the many cues that influence behavior, at any point in time, none is more common than the actions of others. (Bandura, 1986, p 206). - referred as direct learning. - The belief is that human learning takes place by individuals observing the behaviors of others and, by these observations, the observer makes decisions about which of those behaviors they choose to adopt as their own in which they later perform. - Three types of modeling stimuli are as follows: (1) Live models; (2) symbolic models; and (3) verbal descriptions or instructions. - Identified three types of reinforcers which are as follows: (1) Direct reinforcement (directly experienced by the learner) (2) vicarious reinforcement (observed consequences of the behavior of the model) (3) self-reinforcement (feelings of satisfaction or displeasure for behavior gauged by personal performance standards). Ways to overcome (counsellor perspective) 1. held a talk about bully to create awareness. (among teachers and students) 2. Try to figure out why the bullier do the bully in school. 3. Talk to the parents about their children. Let them know about their children. 4. Strict rule. 'Bully is not tolerated' rule.
