SIX-WEEKS-OLD BABE LEFT ON DOORSTEP LAST FRIDAY NIGHT Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Mains, who reside four miles south and two miles west of Vassar, heard a strange noise to the front of their home last Friday night at about 9 o'clock. Upon inves- tigation they found a basket with a baby in it on the porch. The baby is a .boy a.bout six weeks old and a bright little fellow. At the bottom of the basket were some old blankets and the little chap was covered with a bathrobe and baby blanket, which were brand new. Mr. and Mrs. Mains' son-in-law and daughter live with them and, being ~Mtl~out children, it is probable that the little stranger will be taken care of by them and in that ease wi!l have a ~ood home.
