CARY DANCE PRODUCTIONS
Why CDP Company? #WorkhardPlayhard. The CDP Dance Company is an opportunity for your child to grow as an artist and athlete. It is a privilege for those excited and willing to commit to a deeper knowledge of the arts, technique, and performance. It is a family of dancers taking their dance experience to another level. Company dancers learn many genres of dance, attend multiple classes per week, perform at various events throughout the year, and participate in dance competitions and conventions.
As a staff, we are dedicated to empowering our dancers as unique individuals, and cultivating a supportive environment to learn and grow.
Competitions
Including Showstopper, Starpower, Kids Artistic Review, and many more. Company Requirement: 2 regional competitions per year, Nationals required every other year. At this time, we have not decided if we will be attending 2021 Showstopper nationals.
Conventions
We travel to Jump, Hollywood Vibe, NYCDA, and more! Dancers take class and perform for some of the best choreographers in the industry! Company requirement: 2 per year.
CREATE
Annual winter show hosted by our competitive company. A portion of the proceeds are donated to local non-profit, The Carying Place
Christmas Parades
All company members are required to participate in the Cary and Apex Christmas Parades! The CDP Sugarplums are a crowd favorite!
Commitment. All company dancers are required to participate in weekly dance classes (these vary based on age/level) in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theater, and Contemporary. Optional dance styles include Tap, Hip Hop, and Acro. Depending on company placement, dancers will have class 2-4 nights per week, with potential weekend rehearsals. Class attendance is mandatory. Dancers are required to attend our scheduled competitions and conventions (3-4 per year) and nationals every other year. At this time, we have not decided if we will be attending 2021 Showstopper nationals.
Auditions: 1. Fill out the audition form on carydance.com
2. Register for your audition online through your parent portal. Auditions are listed as “Events”.
3. You will receive your virtual audition link the morning of. Follow this link to enter your audition zoom room.
Our company is selected by audition only. Acceptance and placement is based on score and the judges’ review of each students’s age, ability, experience, and commitment to dance. Virtual auditions are held on May 30th and cost $35. Audition forms should be submitted online by May 20th. VIRTUAL

Pre / Petite 6-9 9:00-10:30am
Mini / Tween 10-13 10:45-12:00pm
Junior / Teen / Senior 14 + 12:15-1:30pm
We take age and ability into consideration each year. Age assignment will fluctuate from year to year based on dancers auditioning. Zoom links will be emailed to all registered participants the morning of your audition.
