    INTRODUCTION

    KARVY was established as Karvy and companyby five chartered accountants during the year1979-80, and then its work was confined to auditand taxation.

    Later on it diversified into financial andaccounting services during the year 1981-82 with

    a capital of rs. 15000, achieved its first milestoneafter its first investment in technology.

    SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

    Karvy offered IPOs but found it not quiteprofitable. Entry into the IPO allotmentprocedure could be quite helpful and profitable.

    Competitors like share khan, Geojit, etc. areknown better than karvy. The company couldundertake promotional activities with thegeneral public as the target group. They could

    make aware of the services they render to thepublic. This could attract new customers whichcan be transformed into a long lastingrelationship.

    Investment in India has become more of asecurity necessity than a business lifestyle. It

    was a very fruitful experience working inkarvy as a management trainee. It offeredexposure to the wide range of investmentoptions available.
