VESTERBROOUR NEIGHBORHOODVesterbro is one of the coolest areas in the Danish capital, and has been named as one of the foremost hipster neighbourhoods on the planet. Formerly an infamous red-light, working-class neighbour-hood, Vesterbro´s turnaround began with the transformation of the old cattle market Øksne-hallen into a light and stylish exhibition hall. The whole area around Øksnehallen, the former meatpacking district, is now completely re-invent-ed and abuzz with amazing restaurants, nightclubs, galleries, cafés, green oases and much more – while still maintaining its gritty & urban rock´n´roll feel. OUR ARTOriginal art has always played an important part in creating the atmosphere of our hotels. Marc Weinert, as well as being the archi-tect and visual designer of the Guldsmeden Hotels, comes from an artistic background. His father, Knud Weinert s, paintings and collages can be found throughout the hotels - side by side with pieces by established and up-and-coming artists, as well as Indonesian antiques. Most recently, we have acquired a handful of wonderful paintings by Spanish-born Bali resident Mersuka Dopazo Gascón, that light up the rooms and hallways at Babette Guldsmeden.

THE STORy& THE CONCEPT

Sandra and Marc Weinert opened the first Hotel Guldsmeden in Guldsmed-gade in Århus in 1999.

Today, in addition to the now 27-room hotel in Aarhus, the Guldsmeden Hotels group encompasses 4 hotels and a capacity of 350 rooms in Copenhagen, and a 50-room hotel in Oslo. A gorgeous rental villa in Menton in the south of France as well as

a luxury resort in Ubud, Bali, is also a part of the expansion that the Gulds-meden Hotels group has developed over the past decade. From the very first, lux-urious simplicity, happy hostmanship, an unpre-tentious atmosphere and uncompromising sus-tainability have been our guiding stars. Sandra & Marc are still the heart of the Gulds-meden Hotels, and their vision and personality define the atmosphere of our houses. Generosity of

OUR GOLDEN RULES - A PROMISE TO OURSELVES & YOU

1. Turn off all lights in empty rooms.

2. Turn off heating when windows are open and then set radiator at 2.

3. Sort paper, cardboard and glass for the respec-tive trash bins.

4. Check that bed & kitchen linen and towels are used before sending to wash.

5. Make sure that you use the correct dosage of cleaning products.

6. Fill trash bags full up, to use as few as possible.

7. Reuse trash bag in room, if possible.

8. Never throw our things that still work – pens left in rooms etc.

9. Never let the water run unnecessarily. Turn off taps when possible during cleaning.

10. All magazines left in rooms are to be collected in the lobby, for use by other guests.

11. Always report dripping taps or running toilets, so we don´t waste water.

12. Only use tumble dryer when necessary.
