To the Exhibitor 1. What is Work-Life Balance all about?

In a nutshell, the concept of work-life balance is to find effective ways where todays employee can strike a happy equilibrium between the office and home. Its about effective time management and stress management in order to increase productivity, decrease stress and ultimately to have a happy and fulfilling life. This translates into time for work, time for family, time for self and time for play. So its about healthy living, purposeful living, seeking out the pleasures and enjoyment of life at work, home and play, and most importantly, a positive interaction with the people around you.

    2. Who is the target audience of this tradeshow? Our research has shown that since the 1970s, more women have taken to the workplace and have had to manage multiple tasks in order to be successful at home and work. With the increased demands of todays workforce, this particular target audience is finding it more and more difficult to be truly effective. In essence, the primary audience for this trade show is the working professional woman. This is why weve teamed up with the Barbadostoday.bb to promote the event in the newspaper as well as an intensive ad campaign on radio and TV.

    3. How many delegates are you expecting to attend the tradeshow? We are conservatively anticipating between 1000-1500 delegates per day. This is designed in such a way to make the trade show almost exclusive. This way, you will have a highly targeted audience and more time to spend with your delegates as they attend your booth.

    4. What will attract 1500 professionals to this event? The theme of this show speaks to one of the most pressing and topical issues in Barbados and the Caribbean health and wellness. The Caribbean Work Life Balance Trade Show is the only show of its kind that unites these issues. There is a deliberate effort to tap into our sensory appeal of sight, smell and sound through carefully thought out exhibit design. Additionally, the event is educational in nature with ongoing simultaneous seminars together with international Keynote speakers who will speak the theme of how to balance life and work.

    5. How will you get the delegates there? We will be promote the event via radio, TV, newspaper and the Internet. Additionally, our sales team has already begun direct sales to leading firms inviting them to send their executives. We will also be offering complimentary passes to the leading companies in Barbados. Finally, theres a nominal fee of BD$20.00 at the door for walk-ins.

    6. Social media outlets, local print and electronic media to be used. The social media campaign will focus on Facebook and there will be a running paid ad to push the page and event until October 10th. Six weeks into the event we will intensify our weekly newspaper supplements in Barbadostoday.bb as this is part of the exhibitors package. Four weeks into the event we will intensify our radio ads with Love FM (30 mins specials taking along exhibitors to speak on their goods and services) as well as appearances on CBC TV.

    7. How will telemarketing be done and by whom? GES specializes in training events and telemarketing is part of our standard internal operation. We have a team of three telemarketers.

    8. What type of exhibitor will be there? Work-life balance attracts what we refer to as lifestyle and image aspirations. Hence the typical exhibitor will be offering products and services that cater to the needs, ambitions and aspirations of our main target (the busy professional woman): travel, spas, beauty products, health and wellness, modern day technologies, office fashion, soft furnishings, art, gourmet foods, fine dining, high end credit cards and other investment products and facilities.

    9. Exhibition design? The exhibition is designed by the leading exhibit design company in Barbados, Renaissance Designs. Elements: Sight the three colors of the logo will be used throughout the exhibit to denote the specialty area(s) of the exhibitor; namely, Work Smarter, Live Better, Play Harder each with a separate color code. The entire exhibit hall will be

decorated with plants, waterfalls and art to convey the move towards the greening of our environment by promoting the need for water conservation. The use of art in the space will be to provide an outlet for local visual artists to display and promote their talents. Sound lounge music will be played over the speakers. Additionally, there will be small musical interludes of classical music and lighter sounds. Smell the venue will be scented with candles and other scented materials.

    10. What kind of programming can the delegate expect? In addition to the free giveaways we are expecting from you the exhibitor, we have an exciting program with lots of short seminars on Time Management, Stress Management, Leadership, Investing for the Female Executive, Travel, Wellness and Healthy Living. The exhibitors will also have the opportunity to present short seminars on you products and services. We have already secured two Keynotes: one from the US and the other from Jamaica. They will speak for 45 each day. However, exhibitors will be given 30 presentations to speak to the theme and their products and services. Additionally, there will be 30 min lectures throughout the day on Health and Wellness issues. Entertainment light musical performances, string quartet, surround music, art exhibition, plant and garden display.
