It also includes your hard skills like computer languages and programs, knowledge of foreign languages, laboratory and research skills, and analytical skills. Use the “My Professional Skills” section of your completed Root System Career Plan for part of this section. EXPERIENCE: describes diverse experiences, both paid and unpaid. Use the “My Experiences” section of your completed Root System Career Plan for this section. Include the position you held, name of the organization, city and state of its location, and month and year of your involvement. Summarize what you accomplished in each experience and prioritize these results-oriented descriptions to support your job objective. Don’t include every experience, only those that demonstrate that you can succeed in the position you are pursuing. Use brief phrases beginning with action verbs. HONORS AND AWARDS: Includes honor societies, academic awards, merit-based scholarships, and more.If you have two or fewer entries, incorporate them in the Education section.

RELEVANT COURSES: lists courses/programs that are pertinent to your objective and employers’ needs.If you are currently completing a career-focused program, apprenticeship, or internship, list it here.

ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS: lists student organizations, professional associations, committees, and community involvement, indicating the offices you held. Use the “My Experiences” section of your completed Root System Career Plan for this section, but don’t duplicate items from your Experience section. If you wish, you may merge Experiences and Activities and Interests as one category, Experiences and Interests.

After activities, list interests such as music, sports, and the arts, especially if they pertain to your career interest.

REFERENCES: Optional section that should read “available upon request.”Consider asking your teachers to be references if needed. Who will you ask?
