    QUTUB MINAR

    The Qutub Minar is a famous landmark inDelhi. It construction was started in 1199

    by Qutub-ud-din-Aibak and completed by

    Itutmish his successor and son-in law. Itis 72 meters high and has 379 circular stone steps. It is the highest stone tower inIndia. The tower is wide at the bottom andbecomes narrower as it goes higher. It hasseven stories and each storey is separatedby a balcony. The outer walls arebeautifully inscribed with verses from the

    Quran.

    There monuments are a part of our richcultural heritage.Therefore.it is our dutyas citizens of India, to preserve and protect this rich heritage.We must not write on the walls or break any partof a monuments.We should not throw garbage around a monuments.We should not try to touch every thing in sight as our touch toocan affect the monuments.We must follow the rules and directions written there.We should not click pictures, especially with a flash, if it is notallowed, as the camera flash is harmful to certain things.
