Cardiochek PA Brief Guide Liz Corrigan Office of Public Health Basic kit provided by BHR The analyser Test Strips and memo chip The Lot number of the strips must match the lot number of the memo chip Analyser with memo chip in situ Slot the memo chip into the top of the analyser Press the circle button to turn the machine on The screen defaults to Insert strip To run the daily optics check Then press the circle button Scroll through the functions using arrow button To run the daily optics check When you get to Utility press the circle button To run the daily optics check You will see Check strip press the circle button To run the daily optics check You will see Insert strip insert the optics check strip in the slot To run the daily optics check The optics check strip is re-useable please do not discard after use To run the daily optics check When the test is finished remove the strip and press the circle button scroll through using the arrow button until you reach Exit and press the circle again The optics check strip is re-useable please do not discard after use To run a blood test or do the monthly QC Scroll through the functions using the arrow keys until you get to Run test then press circle To run a patient blood test use the pipette as below Fill to the line it uses capillary action The pipette contains an anti-coagulant but try to get the blood onto the test strip fairly quickly The test strips look like this The strips are inserted here Checking the test strip integrity Check the back of the test strip is clean and has no blue discolouration before use Slot the strip into the analyser and add blood sample
