Scope of Work The Carbonear LTC Facility is a newly constructed patient residence that connects to the existing hospital. As the prime mechanical contractor, Cahill was responsible for activities in both facilities including: Supply, installation, and commissioning of piping and HVAC systems. Installation of a 50-well central geothermal heat pump and cooling system. Highlights Installed sophisticated mechanical systems for air and water distribution consisting of geothermal system, heat pumps, water-air heat pumps for data and electrical room cooling, and a commercial kitchen exhaust system. Proposed alternate engineering solution for steam piping system to reduce disruption to existing hospital and decrease costs. Installed 300HP steam boiler and heating system from utility plant to new mechanical room. Developed detailed tracking and planning system using forecasting model and schedule.
