Carbon management plan
WM Energy Managers' Forum, Friday 7th December 2012
Balbir BassiRugby Borough [email protected]
Introduction
• In the past years Rugby Borough Council has taken measures in cutting down on wasted energy.
• Meter readings were taken manually and given to the energy supplier. This contributed to bill validation and eliminated estimated billing.
• False billing has been eliminated by identifying redundant and non existent meters.
• New supplier contracts have been set up for suppliers to provide actual readings rather than estimated readings.
• Significant reduction in billing is seen in slides to follow
Corporate Energy Costs
Achievements & Progress to dateProjects already implemented
•Town hall voltage optimisation
•Closure of Redundant buildings
•Heating schedule checks (BEMS set points)
•Energy Management (Monitoring, Recording & Reporting)•Installation of LED lighting to John Barford car park
Case studyThe secret :
•To show success with an initial project that demonstrates a strong financial return.
•Implement a project with a positive Environmental Impact.
That’s;
