President’s Notes Happy October Mustangers,
I hope that your month has been a safe and healthy one. On that note please keep the Cooper’s
in your prayers, Kay is the middle of throat cancer treatment. We owe also a word of thanks to
Ed who is doing this newsletter while helping his wife and working.
Also, our new treasurer, Michael Zink had a kidney stone visit to ER, at last report was that he
is better. Hopefully, just a one-time painful event for him.
I want to thank the members that made the trip and show at Wayland in Plainview on Sept. 4th
for their Jimmy Dean event.
Our special thanks to Art Woolever who was going to take the trailer to the event and a wheel
bearing failed. He spent most, if not all, of the day getting that trailer towed to Brad Birdsong
with help from Ronnie Brown via phone from Plainview. The board did a phone vote to allow
Brad to fix bearing and replace both badly worn tires.
Brad, in response, not only got everything fixed but also gave the club a significant discount on
the price.
So, PLEASE visit or call his shop at 5601 130th. He is a former sponsor and club supporter. He
is an excellent, honest mechanic and I’ve known him for many years.
Thanks to Dave Flett for paying for the work(he will be reimbursed) and took the trailer to a
safe place for storage.

Back to business, the club had voted for a show at FB & Trust in September, but it just didn’t
come together so we may try that again in October, if members are interested.
Our Christmas party IS scheduled for Dec 18th. Ronnie has it set up.

Meeting Minutes for September
LMC MEETING MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER, 2021
Meeting was called to order at 7 pm by Ronnie Brown, VP. There were 21 members in
attendance. Firstly I would like to apologize to Mr. William (Bill) Hurlbuc for mutilating his
name as a new member. I did get the car right, a 1968 California Special. Mr. Hurlbuc, please
accept my heartfelt apology (apparently the secretary is having more “senior moments” these
days).
Minutes were read and approved from August meeting, and Treasurer reports a balance of
$7,885.00. Both reports were approved by majority vote. The club will participate in a show
and shine at the Jimmy Dean Music Festival to be help September 4 on the Plainview campus
of Wayland Baptist.
MCA NEWS:
Mr. Q our MCA rep reported that on 9/24/2021 MCA will host a national mustang show in
Mustang, Oklahoma with Jack Rousch as special speaker at the Saturday night banquet.
Michael Zink and Sprague Fleming suggest that at each meeting a “Car Talk” segment occur
spreading humorous car stories. Michael kicked it off with his story and challenges of obtain
his 2007 California Special “Emily” ; apparently numerous photos were exchanged and some
challenges were faced to get Emily from Kansas City to Lubbock.
Meals on Wheels need classic cars to ferry celebrities around on deliveries on Friday, 9/24.
Contact Meals on Wheels if Interested. Also, due to increasing career responsibilities the
current secretary will need to step down at the end of the current term. If interested, put your
name in at the Christmas party!!!

The LUBBOCK MUSTANG CLUB is a social organization dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of the Mustang automobile and the fun and fellowship that goes hand in hand with these cars. The only requirement for membership is a love of Mustangs. For a membership form, go to the "About Us" page of www.LubbockMustangClub.com. Membership dues are $20.00 for new members and $30.00 per year thereafter, due on January 1st.
