SER and SUBJECT PRONOUNS
Gramática 1: Ser with Adjectives
*Adjectives describe people or things.
*Use a conjugated form of ser + adjective to say what someone is like.
*If it is clear who the subject is, you do not need the subject pronoun.
*If you want to say that someone is NOT something, put a “no” in front of the verb.
Gender and Adjective Agreement
Nouns are divided into 4 groups:
Masculine (boys/boys+girls) ie: él, ellos, Juan
Feminine (girls) ie: ella, Samantha, Nosotras
Singular (only 1) ie: Yo, tú, él
Plural (more than 1) ie: ellos, ustedes, nosotros
Your adjective needs to agree with your subject. Usually:
Masculine adjectives end with “o” “os”
Feminine adjectives end with “a” “as”
Singular adjectives end with “o” “a” “r ”“n” etc.
Plural adjectives end with “s”.
Examples:
Carlos y Javier son amigos.
Wendy y Amanda son bonitas.
Señora DeWind es antipática.
Jorge es activo.

Gramática 2:
Definite Articles: EL, LA, LOS, LAS
(they all mean “the”)
They must agree with the noun. (singular, plural, masculine, feminine)
GUSTAR
Creating a sentence with gustar:
1.) Begin your sentence with “A” 2.) Write the person or the subject of the sentence. 3.) Write the appropriate gustar pronoun. 4.) If the object is singular, use gusta. If the object is plural, use gustan. 5.) End the sentence with the object that is liked or disliked.
To DISLIKE something- simply add the word “no” before the pronoun.
Ie: A Juan le gusta la pizza.
A ellos les gusta la pizza.
A Juan le gustan los animales.
A ellos les gustan las fiestas.
