SHORT CAPS
Part Numbers
Please use the following system for part numbers:
VSC [ID in decimals] X [Length in decimals].
For instance, a cap with ID of .062" and length of 3/8" would be
part number VSC 062X.375.
Stock Sizes
Most sizes stocked in 1/2", 1" and 1-1/2" lengths. Short Caps
are also available in almost any length in .062" increments with
a minimum length of .187". For sizes not shown here, please

Flexible vinyl Short Caps fit snugly
without cracking or splitting. They have
excellent insulation qualities and resist
weather, moisture and chemicals. Suitable
for almost any application including
colour coding, thread protectors, insula-
tors, seals, cable ends, electronic
wiring, tools, decorations, masks, etc.
Hundreds of stock sizes. Others can
be produced to your specs where quan-
tities warrant.
Also available in high temperature
resistant material. Hi-temp series has
been used at up to 440oF for extended
periods without breakdown. Minimum
quantities will apply.
*Use an undersized diameter for a tight fit.
For example, if your outside diameter is 1/2",
use a .437 cap.

NOTE: We suggest a slightly
undersized diameter for a
tight fit due to the softness and
flexibility of these caps. For
example, if the OD is .500, use
a .437 Short Cap.

RECTANGULAR VINYL CLOSURESR-Caps (Rectangular Caps) offer the largest
variety of these normally hard-to-find caps in all
popular sizes. Flexible and easy to work with,
R-Caps are used on flat wire or bar stock as
decorators, lever covers, identifiers, or handle
grips. Choose the size, length and bright colour
you need.
FLANGE COVERS
E-Z TAB CAPS
Tough, resilient, vinyl ASA flange covers
protect critical flange faces and prevent interior
damage and contamination.
These covers fit most American Standard
Association, Navy and Military sizes and work
with most tubing, including Marman, flared and
beaded. Tough and flexible, FC-series covers
can also be used on joints and flanges. Fit
most tubing sizes up to 6-1/2". Both types are
available in bright yellow.
Tough, flexible vinyl caps with convenient
extra-long pull tab that makes for easy removal
and application. Go on snugly and stay put for a
superior seal. Can be used as a paint mask,
shipping cap or thread protector.

PLUS-PLUGSUsed as a cap or plug to keep out moisture or
contamination, patented Plus-Plugs fit most
popular threaded and NPT sizes. Flexible non-
shredding material assures Plus-Plugs will not
pop out during manufacturing or shipping.
Patented 360° pull tab assures quick and easy
removal. Most popular sizes shipped from stock.
The clear synthetic material will not
contaminate paint systems. These caps
can be reused numerous times at lower
temperatures and can be used in
extreme temperatures up to 600°F.
Perfect for hard-to-fit small diameters.
The V-shaped design allows one plug to
fit multiple ports. No flange masks the
surface immediately around the port
opening.
Neoprene plugs are best for one-
directional paint spray. Silicone plugs
are for continuous use at 500°F and
intermittent use at 600°F and are of
particular use for the high bake
temperatures found in powder coating
applications.

Masking Products
Polyethylene Sleeving
In addition to the masking capabilities of our vinyl caps and plugs, we offer
a variety of specialized masking products.
Painting discs are heat-resistant,
adhesive-backed crepe paper that with-
stand bake temperatures of 300°F for
one hour. They leave a clean line, with
no “creeping” under edges and no
residue or stain from the adhesive.
Plating discs last for up to one hour
at 200°F, resist more chemicals than
similar vinyl discs and resist curling
and shrinking.
Powder coating discs are made
of extra thick polyester, making them
effective for up to one hour at 425°F.
Use this self-sticking tape to conveniently
mask irregular shapes. No mess, no heat,
no tools required and uses no adhesive.
FINISHING DISCS
SILICONE TAPE
Prevents damage to surfaces.
Identifies various grades. Can cover
irregular contours, from flat to round,
and will stay in place until pushed off.
Minimum order one roll. Sold in full rolls only.

Tapered and flexible for easy installation and removal, these
provide a snug fit as either a cap or plug. Protect threads and
keep dirt and moisture out of pipes, valves, tubes, etc.
When using as a cap, “I” dimension should be at least .020"
per inch less than diameter to be capped. When using as a
plug, “L” dimension should be at least .020" per inch larger
than opening. Larger diameters may require more interference.

Type 1: Flush front.
Type 2: Recessed front.
Snap-In Plugs are tough, flexible
“finishing” plugs used extensively in all
sheet metal work to seal access holes.
Insertion is a snap. Thanks to an inter-
nal bead, they hold on tight when the
handling gets tough.
Snap-In Plugs are used by auto
rustproofers, on refrigeration units,
water heaters, steel doors, paint cans,
lawn mowers–even piggy banks!
These can be hot stamped with your
logo to provide a unique and attractive
solution for product identification. Call
us for a quote on hot stamping.

Got a strain relief hole where it shouldn’t be? Don’t
start again; just fill it with a double “D” plug. These work
for other chorded or “DD” holes as well (holes punched
or moulded with two opposing flats). The convex, matte
finish head tapers to a thin edge, giving your chassis a
completed look. All sizes have a head thickness of
1/16", and fit a maximum chassis thickness of .125".

Pipe Thread ProtectorsBoth open end and closed end protectors are made to completely
cover the threads of conduit pipe.
Smooth sided caps are designed to work well with automatic vibrating
feeders; they use an internal bead to hold on tight when the handling gets
rough.
Major producers of iron, steel and aluminum pipe and tubing use these
unique protectors for safer, damage-free shipments.
Ribbed, threaded caps provide durable protection for male
threads on standard threaded studs and fittings.
Because of their excellent seal, they are a popular mask
for painting and plating.
Threaded Square Head - hollow threaded plug prevents damage to tapped
holes and provides low-cost protection (less than metal) during low pressure
testing, shipping or in-plant handling. Durable plug is easily tightened with fingers
or wrench.
Flanged Square Head - hollow threaded plug locks into position for an extra-
tight seal due to flanged sealing surface and cannot be forced through opening.
Plug will withstand testing at a higher pressure than standard threaded plug and
offers low cost protection against damage of tapped holes.
Hexagonal Socket - a solid threaded plug offering exceptional strength as a
temporary or permanent closure. Hex socket accepts standard Allen wrench
sizes for easy tightening.
