Capital Letters NB: This PowerPoint was made as it was identified in my Year 2 class that their ability to swap a lower case letter for an upper case one was very poor. The only resources related to capital letters that I could find online were more sentence level work, which was too advanced. This PowerPoint was used on the IWB during the carpet session and learners were given a mini whiteboard and pen. A letter was pulled out of the ‘magic bag’ and shown to the children and they were asked to write the capital letter on their board. We then used the PowerPoint to check their answers. Sassoon Primary Infant font was used to make this, so if you don’t have it installed it may revert back to your computer’s default font. If that is the case, change the letters to Comic Sans or your school’s handwriting font. Feel free to delete this note once you’ve read it!

Capital Letters

NB: This PowerPoint was made as it was identified in my Year 2 class that their ability to swap a lower case letter for an upper case one was very poor. The only resources related to capital letters that I could find online were more sentence level work, which was too advanced. This PowerPoint was used on the IWB

during the carpet session and learners were given a mini whiteboard and pen. A letter was pulled out of the ‘magic bag’ and shown to the children and they were asked to write the capital letter on their board. We

then used the PowerPoint to check their answers. Sassoon Primary Infant font was used to make this, so if you don’t have it installed it may revert back to your computer’s default font. If that is the case, change the

letters to Comic Sans or your school’s handwriting font. Feel free to delete this note once you’ve read it!
