Print M edia GuidelinesFollow these guidelines when selecting or loading p rint m edia:

Attemptin g to print on dam p, curled, wrinkled, or torn print m edia can cause

jam s an d poor prin t qu alit y.

Use cut -sheet paper o nly. You cannot u se multipar t pap er.

When using graph p aper, the lines m ay no t m atch because the 1/6-inch (4

m m ) line spacing of th e print er is slightly less than t hat o f graph p aper.

If the p rint density of your page is very h igh, light paper stock m ay cur l slightly

du e to th e large amou nt of ink. If you need to print dense graphics, try

pr intin g on h eavier stock.

Do not use thicker p aper than meets the specifications for th is unit. Printing

with paper th at is thick enou gh to com e in contact with the pr int h ead n ozzles

m ay damage the BJ cartridge.

Many m edia have a right side for p rin ting. If you are using such a m edium ,

m ake sure you set it in the m ulti-purp ose tray with the p rint side facing

    upward.

Setting the Paper Thickness LeverBefore loading paper or o ther p rint m edia in th e multi-pu rpose tray, set the paper

thickness lever. The paper th ickness lever ad justs the gap between the p rint head

and the pr int paper to suit the papers thickness.

Set to the left (m) for paper and m ost other print m edia.

Set to th e right (A) for envelopes.

If the paper thickness lever is not set correctly before print ing, sm ud ging and

    poor print quality may result.

If the paper thickness lever is not set correctly before print ing, sm ud ging and

    Do n ot leave paper stacked in the m ulti-pu rpose tray for long periods of tim e;

longer sheets of paper m ay become ben t or curled over time. This may cause

the paper to m isfeed or jam .

Depending on the density of your printed pages, the ink m ay need time to dr y.

when removing the page, wipe it clean with a clean, soft, lint- free cloth

The capacity of the paper ou tpu t tr ay is 50 sheets of pap er. To redu ce paperjam s, rem ove paper from the outp ut tray before the count reach es 50.

If paper curls after pr intin g, remove it imm ediately; oth erwise paper jams may

    Specialty Paper Guidelines

    Follow these guidelines:

To avoid smu dging caused by fingerprin ts, use a pair of th in cloth gloves whileloading and hand ling film.

To avoid fading, do n ot expose print ed film to p rolonged sun light.

Store un used papers and film s flat. Do not remove papers from their

Store unu sed film at tem peratu res between 59 and 86F (15 and 30C). The

Printing on High Resolution PaperTo load High Resolution Paper in the MultiPASS, follow the sam e procedu re as for

loading paper in the m ulti-purp ose tray (see page 2-11). However, before prin ting,
