• Clinical EndoCannabinoid Deficiency Syndrome

• All mammalian creatures, including all humans, horses, cattle, dogs, fish, etc have an endogenous cannabinoid system. This newly discovered system (mid-1980s) is so new to medicine that it is rarely mentioned, much less taught about in medical schools.

• Nonetheless this is the LARGEST SELF REGULATORY SYSTEM within the human body, governing about every physiological process – including mood, sleep, appetite and hormone production to name but a few.

re Neuro-Regeneration

• A recent concept in neurological medicine concerns Neuro-Regeneration or Neurogenesis – the ability of the body to regenerate neurons and other brain cells.

• Previous medical thinking stated that we come into the world and by the age of three months we have a maximum number of brain cells that we carry throughout life.

• Over time, these brain cells deteriorate and this is what causes “Aging”.

• New Age medicine shows that we do actually produce new brain cells and a Dr. Sandrine Thuret has an excellent Ted Talks presentation re Neurogenesis or Neuro-Regeneration.

• In a recent animal experiment Cannabidiol (CBD) improved neuro-regeneration in the nerve system of adult mice.

• Interestingly enough, THC had no effect on neuro-regeneration, only CBD activated neuro-regeneration.

• This is in line with other recent findings on the pluriform / pluripotent role of the CB1 receptor.

• Pluripotent stem cells have the ability to be programmed to become ANY cell within the human body or mammalian creature.

• In our estimation, this research shows that natural botanical CBD holds the potential to regenerate nerve and neurons, which would be a major breakthrough in neurological medicine, anti-aging medicine and overall health & wellness.

Cannabinoids Dissolve Brain Plaques

• Research from the local San Diego Salk Institute shows that cannabinoids reduce Beta-Amyloid Plaques in human subjects.

• While these exploratory studies were conducted in neurons grown in the laboratory, they might offer insight into the role of inflammation in Alzheimer’s disease and could provide novel therapeutics for the disorder.

• Salk Professor David Schubert, the senior author of the study mentions: “Although other studies have offered evidence that cannabinoids might be neuroprotective against the symptoms of Alzheimer’s, we believe our study is the first to demonstrate that CANNABINOIDS AFFECT BOTH INFLAMMATION and BETA AMYLOID ACCUMULATION in nerve cells.”

Cannabinoids Dissolve Brain Plaques

• Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive brain disorder that leads to memory loss and can seriously impair a person’s ability to carry out daily tasks.

• It affects more than 5 million Americans according to the National Institutes of Health and is a leading cause of death.

• Alzheimer’s is also the most common cause of dementia and its incidence is expected to TRIPLE during the next 35 – 50 years.

• Projections from Medicare are that Alzheimer’s treatments will run our National Healthcare System in excess of $1 trillion annually by 2050.

Cannabinoids Dissolve Brain Plaques

• Similar to the Beta Amyloid Plaques, but a slightly different form of these brain neurological tangles, is the Tau Protein.

• Tau protein plaques and accumulation is characteristic of Traumatic Brain Injury, or what Dr. Bennet Omalu describes as “Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy” (or CTE).

• CTE has affected numerous ex-NFL football players and donated brains from deceased ex-NFL players to Boston University and Dr. Ann McKee have shown that of 91 brain so donated, 87 had strong evidence of these brain plaques characterizing CTE.

Cannabinoids Dissolve Brain Plaques

• A Hollywood movie has been made about the story of Dr. Omalu and his discovery of CTE – that was at first controversial enough to have the NFL try to discredit Dr. Omalu and his work.

• Science has prevailed in the end – although the experience of Dr. Omalu shows how difficult change and “new concepts” can be for our “establishment” to digest and come to grips with.

• Cannabis is facing similar challenges as basically we have all been lied to, according to Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

• Dr. Gupta has “doubled down” on his stance that cannabis is good for you and certainly with the discovery of the Endogenous Cannabinoid System and the fact that the US Government holds a patent on the therapeutic usage of cannabinoids shows that “the establishment” is having to re-think their stance on cannabis.

As a Review, Here is a Synopsis of Alzheimer’s:

• There are billions of nerve cells in the brain called neurons.

• Neurons transport messages and communication throughout the brain using electrical signals

• On the surface of the neuron is a protein called Amyloid Precursor Protein (aka APP)

• Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) is pulled from the surface of the neuron by enzymes

• This frees up a protein called Beta Amyloid

• In a healthy brain, these Beta Amyloid protein fragments are broken down and eliminated

As a Review, Here is a Synopsis of Alzheimer’s:

• In brains of people with Alzheimer’s disease, these fragments accumulate

• These fragments then form sticky, insoluble plaques

• These amyloid plaques accumulate outside the neuron

• These buildups may block cell-to- cell communication at neuronal junctions, known as synapses

• Synapses are tiny gaps between neurons where signals (think spark plugs), jump the gap

• Whether beta amyloid plaques cause Alzheimer’s disease remains controversial

And Now a Review of the Brain’s Lymphatic System, Called the Glymphatic System:

• Protein fragments are broken down and/or eliminated via the body’s lymphatic system

• The lymphatic system breaks protein down into individual amino acid components

• These amino acids can be re-combined by the body’s cells to form new proteins

• In the brain, we have a separate lymphatic system known as the Glymphatic system

• This was discovered by University of Virginia at Charlottesville researchers in 2015

• Link: https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih- research-matters/lymphatic- vessels-discovered-central-nervous- system

• A NIH Link to the research finding is found here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25947369

• The Glymphatic system is a waste clearance system

• It promotes the elimination of soluble proteins and metabolites from the brain

• It promotes similar elimination of protein and metabolites from the Central Nervous System

• Besides elimination, the Glymphatic system facilitates distribution of several compounds

• This includes distribution of glucose, lipids, amino acids, growth factors and neuro-modulators

• This distribution goes to and nourishes all brain and neuronal cells

And Now a Review of the Brain’s Lymphatic System, Called the Glymphatic System:

• This system functions mainly during sleep and becomes disengaged during wakefulness

• Potential neurotoxic waste products, such as beta amyloid are eliminated by this system

• The Glymphatic system can be suppressed with various diseases

• The failure of the Glymphatic system might contribute to pathology including:

• Neuro-degenerative disorders, traumatic brain injuries, stroke

• And potentially Alzheimer’s disease

And Now a Review of the Brain’s Lymphatic System, Called the Glymphatic System:
