Cancel a Test / Delete Order – Batch not closed in MayoAccess, one or more tests on the order

and the order source is Manual (manually created order in MayoAccess)

1. On the Batch Processing screen, check the box to highlight the order you want to cancel

and click Delete Order. This will delete the entire order.

2. Click Ok.

Cancel a Test(s) – Batch not closed in MayoAccess, more than one test on the

order and the order source is Manual (manually created order in

MayoAccess)

1. On the Batch Processing screen, check the box to highlight the order you want to cancel

and click Edit Order.

2. Click Continue. See next page for screenshot.

3. Click Delete next to the test(s) that you want to cancel and click Continue.

Cancel a Test(s) – Batch not closed in MayoAccess, one or more tests on the

order and the order source is Integrated (order came from your LIS)

1. On the Batch Processing screen, check the box to highlight the order you want to cancel

and click Cancel Tests. ****Note – clicking on Delete Order will wipe out the entire

order, leaving no record.

2. Highlight the test you want to cancel and click Cancel Tests. Click Cancel All to cancel

all tests on the order.

3. Enter cancellation reason and click OK.

Cancel a Test(s) – Batch closed in MayoAccess and one or more tests are on

the order.

1. Search for the order/test by clicking on the Orders menu on the program menu bar and

selecting Lab Order Search or click on the ORDER SEARCH button in the extended

frame on the right side.

2. Click on the Search Criteria tab and search for the order by Patient Name, ID, Social

Security Number (SSN), Order # or by using the order display box on the bottom of the

screen. See next page for screenshot.

3. Click on the order to make sure it’s highlighted, then click CANCEL TESTS. See next

page for screenshot.

***Note – DO NOT USE THE “DELETE ORDERS” FEATURE AFTER THE

BATCH HAS BEEN CLOSED. USE THE “CANCEL TESTS” OPTION ONLY

4. To cancel one test, highlight that test and click Cancel Tests. Repeat that step if you

would like to cancel another test. To cancel all tests on the order, click the Cancel All

button. The order status of “Sent to Lab” (specimen in transit) is the only order status

that will allow you to cancel a test(s) after the batch has been closed. See next page for

screenshot.

5. Enter the cancellation reason and click OK.
