THE CANBERRA DISTRICT Take a trip out to Canberra’s wine district to discover something for everyone. There are more than 30 cellar doors within 30 minutes of the city centre. The region is recognised for its Shiraz and Riesling wines both nationally and internationally, but because of the geographic diversity of the wine region, it offers so much more in variety and style. The small-scale, artisan nature of the Canberra District means it is a place where you can still meet the winemaker or owner at the cellar door. You can make the easy drive from Canberra or enjoy one of the area’s many B&Bs or guesthouses to stay the night.
