1.1 THE MUROX BUILDING SYSTEM
This Murox guide is designed to acquaint the reader with the diverseapplications and options of the Murox Building System. While thecontents include the latest developments of the Murox Building System, your particular requirements can be analyzed by our technical staff. Due to our constant endeavor to improve the system, the currenttechnical data is subject to change without notice. This guide pertainsmainly to the Murox Building System. However, it does not in any waylimit our ability to meet your specific needs.

INTRODUCTION
1.2 PRINCIPAL FEATURES
1.2.1 VERSATILITY
The Murox Building System lends itself to a variety of applications, providing the Architect/Designer with a great deal of flexibility.
1.2.2 SPEED
The Murox Building System is erected quickly with limited equipmentand manpower. For example, a 25,000-square-foot building can beerected in two weeks.
1.2.3 QUALITY
All shop-fabricated and assembled components are subjected to strictquality control, thus reducing the supervision required on the job site.
1.2.4 DELIVERY
Thanks to Murox’s design-build approach, a Murox building can bedesigned, fabricated and delivered in record time.
1.2.5 ENERGY SAVINGS
The walls of the Murox Building System have six inches of uncom-pressed fiberglass insulation giving a tested R-20 thermal resistance(confirmed by an independent laboratory). A thermal break is applied tothe outside face of each girt.
1.2.6 APPLICATIONS AND FINISHES
Murox panels are also available with a one-hour UL fire resistance rating, for cold-storage applications and with SolarwallTM cladding. A variety offinishes, such as the shop-installed thin clay brick, are available. For moreinformation, please contact your Murox representative.

INTRODUCTION
1.3 ADVANTAGES AND SAVINGS
1.3.1 FOR THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR
The key advantage of the Murox Building System is the ability to dramatically reduce the time needed to carry a project through to completion. Such efficiency can represent a saving of up to 30% on overall erection costs.
1.3.2 FOR THE BUILDING OWNER
It is clear that the owner will benefit from all the advantages and savingsthis system has to offer.Speedy installation will result in earlier occupancy of the building andcould save the owner thousands of dollars. In addition, the owner has the assurance of a superior-quality building.
1.3.3 FOR THE ARCHITECT
Site supervision costs will be lower due to the faster execution of theentire project. The ideal conditions under which the components are fabricated and assembled in Murox’s ISO-9002 certified plant assures the architect of a superior-quality building.

SPECIALIZED PRODUCTS
9. SPECIALIZED PRODUCTS
Over the years, Murox has developed some specialized applications that share the same design, fabrication quality and speedy installationadvantages of the standard system.
Ventilated thermal panels
Ventilated thermal panels (VTPs) capture solar energy in order to preheatfresh air which is then used to heat a building. Substantial energysavings can be made as heating costs can be reduced by as much as25%. In addition to being cost-effective, VTPs offer other advantages thatmake it an attractive option. Since they have practically the same widthas standard Murox wall panels, they blend it perfectly with the rest of thestructure. VTPs are also entirely shop-assembled, allowing for a rapid siteinstallation and procuring a finished appearance more quickly.
MuroxFire60®
The MuroxFire60 ® panel is used when two buildings are constructed in close proximity to one another. This panel has a 60-minute fire resistance from the inside out, as per its UL rating.
ECONOX
The Econox multi-functional building system allows installation, expansion and relocation of your building in a matters of hours.Manufactured by Murox, the system is composed of light and sturdy loadbearing panel sections, either insulated or non-insulated, which can beerected on simple foundations, by a small crew and a light crane.
Building in remote locations is easy with the Econox system:
• Can be relocated in just a few hours • Small telescopic crane required • Simple and economical foundations • Doors and windows installed in the Murox plant • Custom design • Wide range of metal cladding colors available • Energy efficiency
