Comparing mountains is asubjective and imprecise business.
Yet few would deny that theCanadian Rockies are one of the
most extravagantly beautifulranges on Earth. The mountainsand vast stretches of wilderness
that make up the CanadianRockies offer stunning scenery of glaciers, lakes,valleys, and snowcapped mountain peaks. Joinyour friends from Judy’s Leisure Tours on a

1We will pickup along I94 on our journeyto the fabulous Canadian Rockies, wherewe will experience mountain air, rushingwaterfalls, stunning glaciers, and wildlife,
too. We spend our first overnight at theComfort Inn in Moose Jaw, SK.
2This morning following a continentalbreakfast we continue our journey to oneof North America’s most rugged, andbeautiful cities, Calgary, for a two night
stay. We find this picturesque metropolis inthe rolling foothills of Alberta against themajestic Canadian Rockies to the west and thegreat plains to the east. This evening, we havereserva t ions fo r theChuckwagon Races andG r a n d s t a n d S t a g eSpectacular. Chuckwagonraces, a sport straight from thepages of western history,comes alive before your eyes. Variety actsfrom around the world join the youngCanadians in a glittering Grandstand Show. Anastonishing display of fireworks and a brilliantsyncrolight sky beam aerial ballet provide afitting climax to this thrilling western party.

3We will enjoy a continental breakfast tostart our day before getting ready for “TheGreatest Show on Earth” the CalgaryStampede, one of the world’s most
thrilling spectator events, where we again havereserved seats. The Calgary Stampede rodeooffers you an afternoon of pageantry, along withentertainment, spills and thrills.
4Following breakfast we experience someof the most spectacular scenery Banff andJasper National Parks have to offer. Westop at Peyto Lake as we cross Bow
Summit while traveling on the Icefieldsparkway to the Columbia Icefield in JasperNational Park. It is one of the largestaccumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circleand one of the most accessible icefields in northAmerica. We board a “Snowcoach” for a tourof Athabasca Glacier. The scenery isunsurpassed today as we pass waterfalls,icefalls, soaring peaks, and transparent lakes.Moose, bighorn sheep, elk, and eagles areamong the wildlife youmight see. We will haveplenty of time to watch thewildlife and take pictures ofthe scenery. Unforgettableimpressions are created bythe collage of immense forests, jeweled lakes,rugged glaciers, colorful alpine meadows and awide variety of wild animals in their naturalhabitat. Nestled amidst the breathtaking sceneryin the heart of Banff National Park is ourlodging.
5This morning after breakfast pristinebeauty awaits us at Lake Louise in BanffNational Park. The shadows of vast,snow capped peaks cast themselves
brilliantly over a glacial blue deep in theinterior of Jasper National Park. Lake Louise isa hamlet in Banff NationalPark in the CanadianRockies, known for itsturquoise, glacier-fed lakeringed by high peaks andoverlooked by a stately
chateau. We will take a boatcruise which will provideexceptional views and insightinto area geology and wildlife. This legendary destination, is thesite of the Canadian Rockies most famousphotograph. Be sure to watch for wildlife,mountain goats, bear, elk, deer, etc as this is theday most likely to spot them. After ourspectacular boat cruise we will then travelthrough the park into Banff, to our lodging forthe next two nights. You will have time thisevening to explore the town and have dinner onyour own, watch for the Elk wondering throughtown.
6This morning after breakfast we meet alocal guide for a tour of Banff and aportion of Banff National Park. Amongthe highlights are visits to the hoodoos -
shaped by centuries of wind,Surprise Corner, TunnelMountain Drive and BanffSprings Hotel. We will visitbeautiful Chateau LakeLouise, one of the mostphotographed hotels in the world. We canmeander the shore of Lake Louise the “Jewelof the Rockies”. We’ll then visit nearbyMoraine Lake, one of the most photographedlakes in the world, with its deep emerald colorreflecting a spectacular sight; the Valley of theTen Peaks. Continuing our tour, stops willinclude Kicking Horse Pass, Yoho Valley,Natural Bridge and Spiral TunnelsViewpoint. Returning to Banff you will havetime this evening for a stroll around town. Perhaps you would like to take the SulphurMountain Gondola ride.
7Following breakfast we cross theContinental Divide and travel throughKootenay National Park. We cross overVermillion Pass on our way to Radium
Hot Springs. We again experience the beauty ofthe countryside as it unfolds on our journeythrough British Columbia as we make our wayto Glacier National Park. Our overnight
destination is in Whitefish, Montana.
8Breakfast begins our day then we areheaded to Glacier National Park, locatedin Montana’s northern Rockies, which isprobably one of the oldest scenic wonders
of the United States, and is often referred to as the“Switzerland of NorthA me r i c a . ” G l a c i e rNational Park gets itsname from the huge ice-
age glaciers, which carved its rugged scenery. We travel to the Lake McDonald Lodge wherewe trade our motorcoach for a “Jammer”which will take us for a panoramic view of thePark’s majestic scenery and wildlife. Wordscan not adequately describe this very scenic tripover the Going-to-the-Sun Road. From themountains to the tunnels, to the lakes and thestreams, there is a never-ending vista of sceneryto remember. The park abounds in animal life,flora, glaciers, mountains, and unusualwaterfalls, such as, Haystack Falls, TheWeeping Wall, and Reynolds Creek Falls. Aswe again cross the Continental Divide andLogan Pass, we descend to the east side of thepark and the Rising Sun Lodge. We enjoy thescenery and experience the peace whichinspired the park to be established in 1910 as wecontinue to Lewiston, Montana.
9We travel east across the wide expanse ofMontana to Medora, North Dakota. Weenjoy a delicious Pitchfork fondue thisevening followed by the popular Medora
Musical. This professionally produced musicalextravaganza, performed in the outdoorsplendor of the Badlands, is sure to make yourtoes tap.
10We begin our journey home, with astop at the Painted Canyon, toappreciate one of our own awe-inspiring wonders, the Badlands of
North Dakota. We arrive home early todaywith many memories to share with family andfriends.
