Fire Regulations and Connectivity – Upstairs Downstairs

• NBC 2010 – all subsidiary apts and main dwelling interconnected by electrical system, therefore, all smoke alarms must be connected

• Provincial Electrical Code – cannot have connected units in one system

• RESULT: CHBA-NL is collaborating with municipalities and the province to seek clarification on behalf of the industry
