The impact of people on the land area of Canada has been and is very important as is the influence of the land on the Canadian people.
To understand Canada more fully, we need to find out more
about who lives here.
Who are Canadians?
What are our origins and our cultures?
What patterns have we left on the land?
How have Aboriginal peoples adapted to the arrival of
others in their traditional territories?
How Canadians maintain their culture and heritage today?
By learning more about human systems in Canada, we can better
understand Canadian geography as a whole.
Canadian human geography studies involve the exploration of the settled areas of Canada including its farmland, villages and cities.
Although Canada began as a rural nation, most Canadians now live in cities.
Human geography also teaches us about our relationships with
the natural environment, the rural environment, and the urban
environment as well as the cultural diversity of the people who
live in Canada.
