THE 1946 POWER WAGON WAS THE FIRST COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE 4X4 TRUCK FOR CIVILIAN USE.

In 1945, the Power Wagon served in WWII as a Weapons Carrier for the U.S. military. The truck performed extremely welland the soldiers like it so much they wanted civilian version of it for personal use. In 1946, Dodge released the first

commercially available 4x4 truck for civilian use. Known through the years as the “King of Durability”, the Power Wagon hashelped to define the heavy duty 4x4 pickup in the market.
