The Best Time to Travel

CanadaThe southern provinces of Canada enjoy sunshine and temperatures in the mid 20’s from late May through to early September. This is the best time to experience the abundance of wildlife and adventure that Canada has to offer. From November through to March temperatures can fall below zero particularly in the mountain ranges, making Canada one of the best skiing destinations in the world.

AlaskaThe weather in Alaska is dependent on the region. The Inside Passage and Anchorage area have temperatures around 20°C in summer, while in Fairbanks and the Interior the temperature can be as high as 30°C. Within the Arctic Circle you’ll find 24 hours of daylight during summer, but 24 hours of darkness in winter. The Interior and South Central Alaska also have reduced sunlight as well as reduced temperatures, with Fairbanks to Anchorage experiencing temperatures below zero in winter.

The base camp is set up just back from the ice edge and consists of safari-style tents with a wooden floor equipped with electric power, heaters, elevated beds and ample standing room. Tented camping for 5 nights. (B,L,D)Day 3-6: Ice Floe EdgeThe base camp will enable you to enjoy the warm spring weather (midday sun 24 hrs/day) and engage in a variety of activities both on the land and at the floe-edge. Watch for narwhals, ring seals and over 15 species of migratory birds. Also a chance to observe polar bears in the pack ice possibly on the prowl for seals or sunning themselves as well as bowhead whales. As all hotels and tour operators can make changes to the service and facilities, with or without notice, Adventure Destinations cannot be liable for any errors or omissions caused by the hoteliers and operators concerned. PASSPORTYou must have a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity from departure date from the country you are visiting.CONSULAR ADVICEThe Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade issues travel advices on most countries. Foreign nationals require a re-entry visa for Australia, which should be obtained before departure.
