We have been creating poems about the sea, using figurative language.

The hot summer’s day

The sea munches away at the shore. At dawn the sun comes out from the horizon. The salty sea was dancing with joy, With the sand sitting still at the peak of the sea, Today is no day for drinking hot tea.

The ocean was roaring as loud as a lion on this hot summer's day. It was as hot as it could be, It was the end of May.

The sky was blue, the sea was too. The sun was hot and the the sand was on a boiling pot. The heavens were so bright as a diamond in the moonlight.

The sea is thrashing and dashing ,The sea is dancing with joy,The sea is eating away at the sand like a hungry horse.

The sand is blowing with the wind, The sand is acting like a hurricane,The sand is being swept around like rubbish on the floor.

The sea is getting calmer,The sand has stopped blowing, Now everything is silent near the old beach shore .

The lake shivers beneath the beautiful sunlight, Happily it survived through the night,

It shimmers across the sky, But the river was glad it was light,

Hoping to hit high. It knew that it was the river Nile and,

Back into the lake the river calmly flows, When it was night the stars lit the way to safety.

Making very little splash,

And hardly a crash.

At night when the sun is down,

The scary, dark and fierce sky haunts the river,

The river hopes to make it by light…

When morning comes the lake danced with with joy,

The night sky was clear of clouds,

The sea was as calm as a kitten,

Scratching her paws at the sandy shore.

Awoken by the sound of thunder, the flash of lightning, the rain on her dark black fur.

The coast crashed like lightning in the storm, It ate away at the sand, The horizon disappeared as the monsoon approached, People backed away as the ocean whoosed towards them.

Sand washed away as the roaring sea chased after the houses, It was GONE!, The sky was black with anger, You couldn’t see anything in the distance because the black clouds covered it.

The stormy sea attacked the houses, People ran out of there houses as the fierce sea invaded them, Soon after lightning hit …

Later that day the horizon emerged the stormy seas, The sun was a ring of gold in the blue sky, The sea calmed as the water fled from the houses, The storm was tired

Sea And Stars!

The sea was very calm, when glistening under the night.

Above the stars danced peacefully,

Wintery waves wildly crashed against the rocks,

It starts raining in the glanced night

the stars swallowed

the rain got heavier and heavier,

The moonlight went up and up, until it got brighter.

A day on the beach The sea was calm under the sun like a gold coin . The dog walking a long the beach with his mouth open like sharks for fish And the trees dancing in the background And the fish getting eaten by the sharks James

In the summer I go to the beach, it Is full with happy people.Children shouting and screaming, running and laughing, jumping waves.

Sandcastles everywhere, watch your step.And the sea is warm and calm like a summers breeze.The adults are relaxing in the hot, bright sun while their children are having fun.

In the winter I drive past the beach, the waves are aggressive.Strong, hard and violent, they hit the shore.The seagulls are screeching they’re everywhere.The beach is empty, apart from a man and his dog,The dog is hyper like my brother.I try to remember the good times there. I can't wait till next summer.

When the weather’s cutting and the storms are high,The waves are nearly touching the sky.

Awoken by the rising sun,The sea rubbed its eyes and lapped on the shoreFor a new day had come.

On a lovely summer’s day,When the raging clouds are away,The great big beast licks at the shore,Not making a noise not making a snore.

The sea isn't the only monster,There are other ones too,Lurking around in the darkness,Under the great big blue.

Under the waterMany people look,For sunken shipsAnd valuable books.

Ancient cities they might find,Ruled by a king-an unknown kind,A brand new part to history,Their kind no longer a mystery.

The briny deep swallows all,Sometimes making cities fall,Never letting anything get in its path,Everything near it will feel its wrath.

The LakeThe Lake shivers beneath the beautiful sun light,It shimmers across the sky,Hoping to hit high.

Back into the lake the river calmly flows,Making very little splash and hardly a crash.

The Sea Monster

The water lights up as it turns to dawn, His organs, intestines, lungs are sleeping. As green grass like an calm lawn, And the water is it’s body in the moonlight mist.

It’s an fierce animal that hunts for it’s prey, Without noticing in the middle of day. “I cover 2/3rds of the Earth, But I toss and turn and topple but SPLASH!”

The salty sea crashes onto the sandy shore, “But like a hurricane, I roar” The seabed is wet, the

creatures are gone All fed and full but I’m still hungry.

One day I was on a cruise There is a lot of sharks like swimmers of the seas

Singing and dancing to my tunes The boat is like a submarine

Until something was coming fast. The water is crashing and dashing to the windows

It was a wave it was like a tsunami A light in thhe water deep in the water

Everyone went inside and closed It’s submarine and they were exploring the titanic

all the windows and doors We explored the sunken boat
