Campaign “Road Safety for a Better Environment”
Prepared by SAAS “Marina”
Grade 9 “A”
Our Team
Campaign Objective
• To identify and eliminate key issues with the pedestrian and vehicle traffic near the school territory
Green – proposed roadsBlack – existing roadsRed – troublesome zones
Key Issues
• Mishandling of school parking lots in a way that pedestrians are unable to reach the school gates
• Narrow, uneven and uncomfortable pedestrian passages to school
• Pedestrian passages are extremely slippery and hazardous during winter due to ice
• No separation between the pedestrian passage and vehicle road
Source of the issues
• A year ago we had a major reconstruction next to our school. Three five-storeyed houses were destroyed and five twenty-plus-storeyed houses were erected. Since many new cars and pedestrians appeared near our school, we are experiencing problems with getting to school on foot, especially in winter.
