Borotalpada, 4th September 2012 Dear all, With the Monsoon season in India, we start our second campaign to collect funds so our Trimukhi Cultural Centre in the tribal Santal village of Borotalpada, 240 kilometres south west of Kolkata, can continue growing. Last year, thanks to the donations we received, we were able not only to put the foundations of the Centre but also to erect the walls (in mud) and frame the roof (bamboo and straw). Some of you already saw in Paris (France), Seville (Spain), Guayaquil (Ecuador) or Calcutta (India) the short documentary we prepared to give account of it: What to build means? The film is now available on our website with English subtitles. The link is: www.trimukhiplatform.com/construction-of-borotalpada-cultural-centre-a2590710 For the campaign that begins now, we invited the French anthropologist Marc Hatzfeld (who stayed twice in Borotalpada and joined his hands to ours to build the Centre) to write a short text to appeal for donations. Here it is, followed by a list of concrete necessities for this year and the bank accounts details to send your contributions from India and abroad. Our Cultural Centre is built, what is all about now is to give life in it, that means to inhabit it.

So let us be weaved together by the Cultural Centre in progress: to each one his part, his time, those who knead the clay, those who bring their fifty euros or their thousands rupees, those who draw the plans, those who impulse, those who are still travelling and those who start to dance already. The first work of this Centre is the fabric of emotion, intelligence, generosity and dream that makes shine this little piece of world under the light of a new dawn.”
