  • E.O.T.C. Goals Learning Intentions: -Provide students with opportunities to learn outside the classroom in all curriculum areas. -Provide students with opportunities for enjoyment, adventure and challenge both close to home and far away. -Provide students with opportunities to enhance spiritual, physical and mental well being through uplifting experiences in a natural environment. -Develop students skills so that they can move with confidence and safety within a rural and or wilderness setting. -Develop appreciation for the predator free area that allows native birds and wildlife to develop Safe Outdoor Learning Experiences To achieve safe outdoor learning experiences, everyone needs to work together, just like sailing a real boat. So all groups involved in EOTC have shared, not sole, responsibility for safety. -

  • Parents attending Camp Roles and Expectations Our parents and volunteers are a crucial part to our camp success. Therefore you are all seen as staff first and parents second. Your role is to work alongside the teaching staff or with camp instructors; following the programme or activity to the letter. You are there to support, comfort and assist with whatever activity you have been assigned to. If there needs to be any disciplining of any kind please refer the incident to the nearest available teacher. We are expected to behave professionally and responsibly throughout the time you are around the children, remembering that we are there for all the children and not just our own. Please do not get in a situation where your child and their friends pressure you into making a decision that may put you or the students at risk, i.e. swimming in the sea..

  • Parents attending Camp Please assist in the dishing up of the meals, we allow the children to eat first as it is their camp. You will also be expected to care after a cabin and be responsible in overseeing a group when on duty. There are a lot of thankless jobs that need doing, and very little down time for you. Especially when excited, kids dont get to sleep till late and wake up early the next day. Knowing and understanding that camp is literally a 24 / 7 experience can prepare you in advance. If there needs to be any disciplining of any kind, this needs to be referred to the nearest available teacher. There will be NO ALCOHOL whilst at camp, I make NO apologies about this ruling.
