Through various different operational agreements with Star-nav and Sulnorte, two prestigious tugboat owners in Brazil, it was possible to reallocate the combines fleets, allowing Ca-morim to open new branches. In this way, the company can currently offer its clients operation in the ports of :

Is a group of 8 companies composed of hundreds of em-ployees. It operates a fleet of roughly 80 vessels of which 33 are azimuthal stern drive tugboats, around 20 conven-tional tugboats, some 20 off-shore service vessels of vari-ous types and 23 barges that range from 50 to 500 tons.

New delivery

On April 5, 2018 Camorim celebrated the chris-tening and delivery of the C. Esmeralda, a ro-bust “azimuthal astern drive” tug driven by a Rolls Royce propulsion system and MTU En-gines. She measures 32 m in length, 11 m wide a delivers an impressive bollard pull of 70 tons.

This tug equipped with state-of-the-art systems meets international standards for reducing en-vironmental pollutants. Due to the versatility of its design, C Esmeralda is able to perform both in port maneuvering (offshore mooring and un-loading) and offshore support activities. The company now has 58 own tugboats and, until the end of the year, it will incorporate one more.

Near future

Our accelerated plan was only possible thanks to a strong partnership with Star-nav, owner of 8 static traction azimuthal tugs ranging from 60 to 70 tons, and Sulnorte, which currently has a fleet of 13 azimuthal tugboats.

With the entry of the C. Esmeralda, the total of the joint fleet will now be 33 azimuthal tugboats. Still in 2018, two more azimuthal tugboats will be in operation: one from Star-nav and another from Camorim.

Between the years 2019 and 2020, another 8 new 80-ton ships are planned, which will be built by Starnav, bringing the fleet to a total joint fleet to 43 azimuthal tugboats.

In addition to the protected harbours tugboat

market, which has been experiencing strong

growth in recent years, Camorim is also

betting on the revitalization of the offshore oil

& gas segment, with the entry of new oil ex-

ploration operators.

As such, it believes in the increasing demand for new offshore support vessels. Its facilities in the Guanabara Bay / RJ, which has a ship-yard equipped for ship construction and maintenance and with a private terminal for cargo handling , are fully prepared to take-on the rebirth of this industry.

Camorim has strong commitment to the highest standards for the health and safety of their employees, our customers, and contractors as well as to the protection of the environment in the communities in which we live and work. Our HSE Management system which is called “Sistema de Gestão da Segurança e Proteção do Meio Ambiente”, contains:

On September 1, 2017 a fleet of 4 tugboats, debuted at the Baia de Sao Marcos, operated by Camorim Serviços Marítimos . Setting up as a the newest company in Sao Luis assisting shipowners, port agencies and other maritime companies, we have in a matter of only a few moths leveraged a positive impact at Sao Luis and the local economy.
