Series InformationThis will be the 25th meeting between these two programs with the Javelinas leading the overall series, 13-11. Last year both teams split their conference games on their respected home courts. In Kingsville, the Aggies held a one point lead at the half but was outscored 46-33 in the second half falling 76-64. The last time Cameron got a win in Kingsville was on Dec. 20, 2010 (57-50).

Javelinas at a GlanceThe Javelinas have got off to a 3-2 record this season with all their games being played at home. They started with a loss against Texas A&M-International (60-67), and then beat Texas Lutheran 80-55, St. Edwards was the Javelinas next victim (60-52), they then beat Bacone 85-55 and suffered a loss to McMurry 46-61.

TAMUK is averaging a .416 field goal percentage through the first five games, shooting .280 from behind the arc. They have out-rebounded their opponents by a margin of 0.8 with 38 per game. They are also controlling the ball well with a +4.2 turnover margin over the first five games.

The Javelinas are led by Rashad Basey who has averaged 14.6 points per game so far and is shooting .448 from the field and is leading the team in assists. Reid Wallace is next with 8.2 points per game, while going 7-14 from three in the first five games. Adam Mughmaw is the leading rebounder for the Javelinas with 29 so far and 5.8 per game.

The Aggies split the Kingsville ClassicIn their first trip to Kingsville this week, the Aggies lost to McMurry in their first game (56-76), and beat Bacone College the next day (75-60).

A mixture of a slow start and lights out shooting from their opponents put the Aggies behind early in the first game. The War Hawks took advantage of multiple Aggie turnovers and won the battle on the boards handily.

The Aggies leading scorer in this game was Jonathan Patino with 11, followed closely by Warren Chapman, who in his first game for Cameron, hit three 3-pointers to give him nine points in the game.

Fortunately for the Aggies, they were able to bounce back the next day against Bacone College. After being only up by two at the half, Craig Foster and the rest of the Aggies mounted a 12-0 run that helped them pull away from the Warriors.Foster was the main man for CU as he scored a career high 25 points and had three steals. Kimric Dixon and Tim Johnson also scored in double digits against Bacone College.

Up next for CameronThe Aggies will travel north on Dec. 2 to play in San Antonio, Texas against Incarnate Word. This will be the final time Cameron will play a Lone Star Con-ference game at UIW, starting in the 2013-14 they be transitioning to Division I status in the Southland Conference.

Wade AlexanderHead Coach | Fifth Season | East Central ‘01

Wade Alexander is entering his fifth season at the helm of the Cameron Aggie men’s basket-ball coach. In the 2011-12 season Alexander guided the Aggie men to their second winning season in a row and won their first post-season game since 1993 in the Lone Star Conference Tour-nament. The program also had the LSC men’s basketball player of the year, Milton Garner who also was named to the 2012 Reece’s Divi-sion II All-Star Game.

Prior to coaching at CU, Alexander was the assistant men’s basket-ball coach at East Central University. In just his first season, Alexander ended an 11-year postseason drought and took the Aggie men to the Lone Star Conference Champi-onship tournament. CU had not been to the postseason since the 1997-1998 season. Alexander was awarded Lone Star Conference and Cameron University Coach of the Year honors for his successful efforts. Alexander served as the assistant men’s basketball coach under head coach Terry Shannon at East Central University from 2005-2008. While at ECU he helped lead the Tigers to a third-place finish in the LSC after the 2005-2006 season, and was instrumental in the development of seven LSC All-Conference players. He also served as the program’s recruiting coordinator under head coach Terry Shannon and was responsible for all of the administrative duties. Prior to ECU, Alexander was the assistant men’s basketball coach at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (Kingsville, TX), another fellow Lone Star Conference school. While on the Javelina coaching staff under head coach Pete Peterson, Alexander helped to guide the squad to a third-place finish in the LSC after the 2004-2005 season. He also was instrumental in TAMUK’s #10 regional ranking that year. Alexander started his coaching career at Bacone College (Muskogee, OK) as the assistant men’s basketball coach and head men’s and women’s golf coach. With the Warriors and under head coach Alan Foster, Al-exander helped lead the team to a second-place finish in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) after the 2003-2004 season. Like at ECU and TAMUK, Alexander was the recruiting coordinator at Bacone College. In Alexander’s eight years of coaching experience he as had a total of 16 all-conference players and 14 players go on to the professional ranks. He has also coached 14 student-athletes to an all-conference honor. Alexander received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science de-gree from East Central in May of 2001. He then stayed at ECU to achieve his Master’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis on Sports Administration in December of 2002. The Marlow, Okla., native is mar-ried to the former Dana Williams of Comanche, Okla., and the couple has a daughter named Addison.

Aggies picked fifth in LSC Preseason PollThe Cameron University men’s basketball team was picked fifth in the 2012 Lone Star Conference Preseason Men’s Basketball Poll. The league’s preseason polls reflect the opinions of LSC head coaches and sports in-formation directors, plus various media representatives from through-out the region.

Last season the Aggies finished fifth in the LSC with a 10-8 conference record and an overall record of 15-11.

Tarleton edged Midwestern State for the No. 1 spot by seven points, as both teams earned 12 first-place votes each, for totals of 269 and 262, respectively. The Texans and Mustangs shared last year’s championship with identical 15-3 league records.

West Texas A&M was third with 246 points and four top votes, Incarnate Word fourth (166), and Cameron fifth (139). Texas A&M-Kingsville was sixth (130), Abilene Christian seventh (112), Angelo State eighth (95 and one first-place vote), Texas A&M-Commerce ninth (91) and Eastern New Mexico tenth (85).
