Part 2

Write up the blanked out instructions for Part 2 (p104) on the board or hand out Resource 3 and ask students to predict what the missing words are. Read out the original instruction for your students to check their predictions.

Elicit what students have to do in Part 2 and then brainstorm what kind of things they would find most useful in an airport.

Pair students, tell them to look at picture 4A to identify what’s in each of the pictures and decide what would be most useful.

 Part 3

Briefly elicit what candidates have to do in this task before pairing students. Give Student A picture 4B and Student B picture 4C. Ask them to make some notes on their picture in a time limit and then pair them to discuss it.

Ask your students to imagine and then elicit what other photos could be used on the topic of games. Ask each student to draw a quick sketch of an idea elicited.

Put your pairs into groups of three and ask them to describe each other’s pictures as if they were given to them as a trio in the exam.

As a round‐up, discuss the difference between ‘sport’ and ‘game’.

Part 4

Read out the instruction for this part and then elicit what students have to do (i.e. talk about games they like to play in the house and games they prefer to play outside).

Pair them to quickly brainstorm what they could talk about in three to four minutes. Elicit their ideas on the board ‐ refer them to the back‐up questions on p105 if necessary.
