By the end of this worksheet you should be able to:
a. Recognise that on a travel graph, time is always shown along the “x” axis and distance along the “y” axis.
b. Recognise that on a travel graph distance normally refers to the distance from a certain point.
c. Remember that there are 60 minutes in one
hour and that 1 tenth of an hour is 6 minutes and 1 quarter of an hour is 15 minutes.
d. Complete a distance-time graph from data given descriptively or in a table.
e. Use the equation:
Average Speed = distance travelled time taken A.S. = d
t f. Transform the Average Speed equation in
order to calculate the distance travelled or the time taken.
