Support Pad RequirementsGE 1.0T Signa Horizon Mobile MR System
The following is a list of recommendations and requirements for a concrete support pad. However, due tovarying site conditions, the actual pad design should be prepared by an appropriately licensed structural orarchitectural engineer.
Recommended Support PadA full padmeasuring10'-0" x 40'-0", locatedas shownonFigure2 andFigure3 as the crosshatching,is therecommended support pad.
Recommended Service PadA full pad measuring 21' -0" x 55'-6", located as shown on Figure 2 and Figure 3 is recommended to provide aservice access.
Support Pad DepthRecommendations for the width and length of the pad are given above. Based upon the weight distributioninformation given in Figure 3 and existing site conditions, the depth should be determined by a local contractor. It is recommended that non-ferrous reinforcement materials be used for pad reinforcement. GE must approveplans for pad construction.
Support Pad LevelnessThe support pad must be level to ensure proper operation of the MRI system. The pad must not exceed .125"deviation in 10'-0". If the minimum support pads are selected, rather then the recommended single pad, theymust also meet this specification.
Vehicle AccessA firm, level surface is required around the mobile unit to provide access to the tractor/trailer, aid with patienthandling, servicing the unit, and delivering of cryogens.
Steel Reinforced Concrete PadA maximum of 4 lbs per square foot of steel is allowed in the concrete pads beneath the mobile unit.

Support Pad RequirementsGE 1.0T Signa Horizon Mobile MR System
Minimum Support Pad ReauirementsA front pad measuring 10'-0" x 4'-0" and a rear pad measuring 10'-0" x 15'-0" located as shown on Figure 2will provide the minimum support requirements.
Recommended Attachment to FacilitvAn inflatable air bag or soft seal is recommended at the point of connection from the unit to the facility. Fixedor solid connections may hinder imaging quality. Contact Calumet Coach Company or the local GErepresentative prior to construction if the proposed connection varies from the recommended.
Exclusion ZoneAn area of 5'-0" x 5'-0", located directly below the magnet vent should be fenced off to prevent injury in theevent of magnet quenches.
Vehicle MovementThe MRI is very sensitive to vibration and moving metal. Consequently, all vehicle traffic shall be kept as faraway as possible from the pad. Moving ferrous materials having the listed masses should be limited to areas asdescribed in the GE site planning publication. Contact GE to obtain the latest version.
Vibration I Foundation DesiQnIt is essential to minimize vibration to ensure high resolution Image quality. To achieve this, GE has produceda scope of work, specifications, and test methods for new and existing sites. GE in their Signa Horizon siteplanning publication provides this documentation. Contact GE to obtain the latest version.
SwinQ Clearance NotePlease verify the actual dimensions of the rearmost projections on the cab of your tractor to the centerline oftandem suspension or centerline of the fifth wheel plate on your tractor. Refer to Figure 7 for proper tractorsizing information.

Customer Power RequirementsGE 1.0T Signa Horizon Mobile MRSystem
Ground ConductorAn insulated ground conductor sized in accordance with National, State, and local codes shall be installedbetween the facility vault and the MRI System ground bus location in the power distribution unit.
Exclusion ZoneThe MRI unit is equipped with magnetic shielding. The exclusion zone for cardiac pacemakers, neurostimulators, and other biostimulation devices is recommended at 5 gauss (0.5mT). Signs, provided by GE,must be posted to alert all who approach the unit of this requirement.
The l.OT magnet systems exclusion zone does not extend into normally accessible locations that are exterior tothe mobile unit. The appropriate warning signs are permanently attached to the scan room doors. The 3 gaussline (0.3mT) is located approximately 3 feet from the unit walls. The 1 gauss line (O.lmT) is locatedapproximately 8 feet from the van walls. The 0.5 gauss line (0.05mT) is located approximately 12 feet from thevan walls.
R.F. ShieldinaTheR.F.shieldis includedwiththeMRIsystemandwillprovideminimumlevelof attenuation:10Mhz- 100Mhz,85db (planewave,electricfield,magneticwave).
Note:The standard connector for the unit is a RussellStoll #DS2504MP. If an existing site currently implements adifferent connector, connector configuration, or the available power supply varies from above specifications, please contact Calumet Coach Company to arrange for a compatible power connector before the unit leaves thefacility.
WARNING:It is the operator's responsibility to verify that the shore power receptacle is electrically compatible with themobile system's umbilical connection prior to plugging in. Plugging into a receptacle not electricallycompatible could cause injury or damage.
It is also recommended to inspect the power cord, connector, and fasteners prior to connection. If duringinspection you suspect internal or external damage has occurred, have a qualified electrician inspect and repairthe damage before further use. Follow the maintenance schedule in the Operator and Maintenance Manual forsafe operation of the mobile unit.

Mobile Grounding RequirementsGE 1.0T Signa Horizon Mobile MR System
NOTE: For the associated drawinQplease refer to FiQure6. All work is to be done in accordance with local and national electrical codes.. Information shown here is only a recommendation and must be verified local site codes and national
site codes.. Ground wires inside enclosures are to be taped green for the entire visual length for identification.. If a separately derived secondary system transformer is used, a bonding jumper between the grounded
conductor (neutral) and the equipment - grounding conductor must be used.
GroundinQTheground for our system shall originate at the system power source (transformer) or first access point ofpower into the facility, and be continuous to our system power disconnect in the room. This ground can bespliced with "High Compression Fittings" and should be terminated at each distribution panel it passes through. When it is broken for a connection to a panel, it shall be connected into an approved grounding block with theincoming and outgoing ground in the same grounding block. This grounding block is then connected to thesteel panel. Never use the steel or any other material of the panel as the grounding block.
The connection at the power source shall be at the grounding point of the "Neutral - Ground" if a "WYE"transformer is being used, or at the typical grounding points of a separately derived system. In the case of anexternal facility, it shall be bonded to the facility ground point at the service entrance.
Ground WireThe ground wire shall be copper wire and the same size as the disconnect feeders. The ground wire impedancefrom our system disconnect, including the ground rod, shall not have an impedance greater than 2 ohms to earthas measured by one of the applicable techniques described in Section 4 of ANSIlIEEE Standard 142-1982.
Special GroundinQ Note:The unit must have an earth driven groundrod withinfive (5) feet of the hospitablepower receptacle. Agrounding cable of a minimum 4 GA must be connected between the grounding rod and the grounding pin ofthe hospital power receptacle, and another cable to be kept as short as possible, and must not exceed 8 feet inlength. A separate grounding conductor must still be run with the phase conductors to the source of power fromthe grounding pin of the hospital power receptacle in accordance with NEe. Article 250-23.

A minimum "A" dimension of 92' is required from rearmost projection to centerline of tandem suspension. This provides swing clearance for generator set which ismounted on the front of the trailer. Hospital is responsible to ensure the access route is clear of obstructionswhen the trailer is scheduled to arrive or depart.
The 50' minimum outside turning radius shown here has been calculated using an international harvester (Navistar) tractor Model COF-9670 with a 161" wheelbase.Turning radius will vary with towing tractor. Customer must confirm the turning radius on their tractor and prepare each site with adequate space to accommodate it.
