1 Students from the study programmes Law, Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Sciences, Computer
Sciences, Albanian Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, German Language and Literature and
International Communications may, after the completion of three years of their first cycle of studies (having gained the
diploma for completion of the first cycle), continue if they desire for one additional year, upon the completion of which they
will gain a diploma for the completion of the first cycle of studies with 240 ECTS credits - four years.
2 The programme is offered in the Turkish language. The tuition fee for this programme is 1000€ / semester due to the
additional cost of engaging international professors who will teach in the Turkish language.
3 The study program in “Economics and Business" offers the possibility of a Double Degree in collaboration with the
University of London (UoL) - London School of Economics (LSE). The courses of this program are compatible with the LSE
study program.

2. Number of students in part-time studies (correspondence)
In the academic year 2016/2017, the number of students that will be enrolled in part-time
studies (first year) is a number up to 30% above the total number of students foreseen in the call for
full-time studies, for the following study programmes:

Part-time studies according to the distance-learning programme, imply independent studies according
to the University’s guidelines and standards. The regime of studies is as follows:
in the beginning of the semester students have an introductory lecture with the professor of
the respective course;
the skill courses (e.g. English Language and IT Skills) will be organized in face-to-face teaching,
once per two weeks, after normal working hours, based on the level of knowledge;
by utilization of the electronic learning management system “Libri” (https://libri.seeu.edu.mk),
students will be guided for self-learning, with evaluative criteria, appropriate material, and the
possibility of taking part in electronic forums;
at the end of the semester, there will be an intensive seminar with professors of the respective
courses.

Note 1 (for sections I.1 and I.2)
In those cases where the number of applicants is higher than the number foreseen in the Call, and if those
applicants fulfill the admission criteria and standards required by SEEU, the Rector’s Council has the right
to increase the number in the Call 20% above the number projected in the Call.
In those cases where the number of candidates is lower than 20 per study programme, the University has
the right not to activate that study programme; candidates will be offered the possibility to study in
another active study programme.

Students studying in Skopje might, based on the requirements of the programme, attend one day per
week in Tetovo.
Note 2
The university welcomes suitably qualified students who also have a disability or special need and aims to
support them in reaching their academic potential and employability.
3. First Cycle student’s enrolment requirements
3.1. Admission terms and criteria
a. The right of enrolment in the University is open to all candidates that have completed
four-year secondary high school or its equivalent and who have passed the state
Matura.
b. If in the first enrolment session the number foreseen by the Call is not fulfilled, then in
the second session the right of enrolment (besides those who have passed the state
Matura) will be open to candidates from the gymnasiums who have passed the school
Matura and candidates from professional high schools who have passed their final
exam.
c. Candidates, who have finished four-year secondary high school or its equivalent before
2008, have the right to enroll on the basis of their high school success.
d. Candidates who have finished four-year secondary high school or its equivalent outside
the Republic of Macedonia have the right to enroll on the basis of their high school
success alone. They must, however, verify their diploma during the first academic year in
the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia.
e. Evaluation of the success from high school, state Matura and school Matura for
candidates from gymnasiums, or of the final exam for those who have finished
professional high schools (for the candidates on the second admission session), is
expressed in points. The ranking will be based on the points.
f. Candidates who wish to study in the Turkish language programme and who come from
the Republic of Turkey must have a minimum of 300 points from the state graduation
exam as a condition for enrolment.
g. Candidates are enrolled as full-time and part-time students with self-financing of
studies.

h. Advantage during enrolment in part-time studies will be given to candidates who are
employed and who have better results from high school. Employed candidates will have
to certify their status.
i. Transfer students should additionally provide the transcript of their grades from the
previous Higher Education institution.
3.2. Language Proficiency
a. All candidates will have to take English language testing. This testing does not have an
eliminating character but is needed to determine the level of language proficiency.
b. For the study programmes offered in the English language, the minimum requirements
for English proficiency are: TOEFL ITP min. 460 (paper based; offered at SEEU) / TOEFL
IBT min. 57 (Internet based) / IELTS min. 5 or an equivalent score from the English
Language Institutional Test from the Language Centre, SEEU.
3.3. Application and admission deadlines for the first cycle of studies
Application deadlines
The application period for candidates is from 01 September 2016 until 17 September
2016.

The right to apply is open to all candidates who fulfill the conditions and criteria
foreseen in the Call. Candidates should submit the documents listed below to Student Services,
on the University Campus in Tetovo or Skopje, or by post, to the following address:

3. A short biography/letter of interest consisting of at least 500 words in which candidates
should state the motivation for their application to SEEU.
4. Original transcripts or notarized copies for all years (if high school is completed according
to 9+3 model, candidates are required to submit 9th grade transcript as well).
5. Original High school diploma or notarized copy with the results from the state Matura, i.e.
school Matura or final examination.
6. Birth certificate.
7. Photocopy of ID or passport.
Note:
Transfer students should additionally provide the transcript of their grades from the previous Higher
Education institution.

4 The respective Law Second Cycle Studies programmes in the SEEU Campus Skopje will be offered if at least 10 students are
enrolled. If the number of applicants is below 10, the core courses will be offered in the SEEU Campus Tetovo, whereas the
free elective courses will be offered in the SEEU Campus Skopje.
5 Second Cycle Studies programme, Joint Degree in “European Studies“, with the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of
Ljubljana, Slovenia.
6 Second Cycle Studies programme in “Computer Sciences” is offered as one programme with common core courses among
all tracks. The minimum number of students for the track to be active is 15. In case this number of students is not reached the
offer to the students will be given to continue the Track courses on mentorship basis, or move to another active track.

In those cases, where the number of candidates is lower than 15 per study programme, the
University has the right not to activate that study programme; candidates will be offered the possibility
to study in another active study programme.
2. Second Cycle students enrolment requirements
2.1. Admission terms and criteria
a. The right of enrolment in the second cycle of studies according to the model 3+2 (four
semesters) is open to candidates who have obtained their undergraduate (first cycle)
university diploma (verified) or the equivalent to three years’ undergraduate studies
(180 ECTS credits) or four years (240 ECTS credits).

b. The right of enrolment in the second cycle of studies according to the model 4+1 (two
semesters) is open to candidates who have obtained their undergraduate (first cycle)
university diploma (verified), or the equivalent to four years (240 ECTS credits).
c. Courses will be regular and modular according to the following model: 50% of the
curriculum of the relevant Faculty will be offered in regular form, and the other half of
the curriculum will be realized with self-study (led by instructors). Regular courses will
be offered on Thursdays and Fridays after 16:00, and on Saturdays in order to
accommodate the needs of candidates who work full time.
d. Advantage will be given to students who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 8.00 and
above in their first cycle of studies.
e. If in the relevant study programme do not apply sufficient number of candidates, then
the programme can be offered according to mentoring system or lectures once a
month.
f. In cases where the applicant has completed the first cycle in a field that is not
appropriate to the second cycle programme for which s/he applies, a Commission from
the relevant Faculty will determine additional criteria for enrolment in the new second
cycle study programme.
g. According to the Law on Higher Education, candidates who have graduated from
universities outside the Republic of Macedonia are obliged to verify their diploma in the
Ministry of Education and Sciences of RM, for which purpose they will receive
administrative support from SEEU Student Services.
2.2. Language proficiency
a. All study programmes in both calls of the second cycle (3+2 or 4+1 model) are offered
in Albanian, Macedonian or English. Irrespective of the language of the programme, the
University reserves the right to deliver parts of the lectures or materials in English, so
knowledge of at least Albanian and English, or Macedonian and English, is required.
b. For the study programmes offered in the English language, the minimum requirements
for English proficiency are: TOEFL ITP min. 460 (paper based; offered at SEEU) / TOEFL
IBT min. 57 (Internet based) / IELTS min. 5 or an equivalent score to B1 (CEFR) from the
English Language Institutional Test from the Language Centre, SEEU.

Studies) should correspond to the number of the accredited mentors. The current number on the table indicates the
maximum number of students that can register for these study programmes, based on the verification of accredited mentors
till September 2016 when the final number of students that can be enrolled will be announced.
2. Third Cycle student’s enrolment requirements
2.1. Admission criteria and terms
a. The right of enrolment in third cycle studies is open to candidates who have achieved a
cumulative GPA of 8.00 or above during their first and second cycle of studies in the
respective field, have accumulated a minimum of 300 ECTS, have published scientific
works, and have adequate English language proficiency.
b. In the cases where the applicant has completed the second cycle in a field that is not
appropriate to the third cycle programme for which s/he applies, a Commission from
the relevant Faculty will determine additional criteria for enrolment in the new third
cycle study programme.
c. According to the Law on Higher Education, candidates who have graduated from
universities outside the Republic of Macedonia are obliged to verify their diploma in the
Ministry of Education and Sciences of RM, for which purpose they will receive
administrative support from SEEU Student Services.

2.2. Language proficiency
a. For the study programmes offered in the English language, the minimum requirements
for English proficiency are: TOEFL ITP min. 460 (paper based; offered at SEEU)/ TOEFL
IBT min. 57 (Internet based)/ IELTS min. 5; or previously completed education in the
English language.
b. Priority for admission in programmes offered in local languages will be accorded to
candidates who have knowledge of at least one foreign language. Proof of foreign
language knowledge can be an international certificate, or a certificate issued by the
SEEU Language Centre, or a diploma for previously completed education in the
appropriate foreign language.
