    1 GENERAL

    1.1 Application

    This is a general document to be used for System Demonstration in GSMand UMTS.

    1.2 Features

    1.3 Introduction

    Supplementary service Call Forwarding allows Mobile Subscribers (MS) toforward incoming calls to another number given the following circumstances:-

    (a) Call Forwarding Unconditional-CFU

    (b) Forwarding on MS Not Reachable-CFNRC

    (c) Forwarding on MS Busy-CFB

    (d) Call Forwarding on No Reply-CFNRY

    (e) Call Forwarding Maximum allowed number of times

    The purpose of the Call Forwarding service is to route a call to a forwarded-tonumber by setting up diverts so that after interrogation by the GMSC/Server theHLR returns Forwarding and Routing Information back to the GMSC and, ifCFU is active, the call is forwarded/re-routed.

    A notification to the calling subscriber is also included in this service andmeans, that, dependant on subscription options, a recorded announcementcan be given.

    Once a subscriber has access to more than one telephone, Call Forwarding isa service that ensures no potential loss of important calls. It is also of additionalbenefit when a subscriber does no wish to be disturbed (ie in a meeting) andcalls and messages are forwarded to a secretary or Voice Mail service andthen recovered later.

    The maximum number of successive call forwarding allowed for one call, canbe defined between 1to 5 for ETSI and 1to 10 for ANSI.

    This demo case will verify that a call is forwarded to a number defined by thecalled subscriber with the Call Forwarding Unconditional service active.

    The result of the demo should be that call is transferred to the desired number.
